Next Door Savior by Max Lucado (2003, Hardcover)

This is a very good book easy read. A must for those who are looking for more spiritual guidence. Max Lucado does such a wonderful job with how he explains the verses in the Bible in our modern language. I love the way he illustrates the passages and brings them to life.
If you have not read this book, it is a must read.

Max Lucado's style of writing draws the reader into the story. I have used many teen devotionals over the years, but this one really captivated my 17-year-old's interest. She even said "I like the way he writes." Finally!!

I got this book at an auction with other books....WOW I have never read Max Lucado before. This is a must read book as far as I am concerned!!

Why I bought it--our women's bible study class voted to review it. We needed 20 copies so I went on the internet to purchase them and everyone saved money over the cost of buying them direct from a dealer. So far, we are enjoying the delightful way Max has of explaining and reviewing Biblical stories. It does seem to make us feel closer to Jesus as we focus on His humanity in which His divinity is merged--both God and man! Great job, Max!

This book has a wonderful perspective on Jesus as well as other persons of the bible. It really opens your eyes to who He really is and what He is all about. I recommend this book to anyone looking to get closer to Him. You pick up the book and can't put it down. Max Lucado has a way of writing that takes you right to where he is.

Written like only Max Lucado can. His writing helps you see God on a more personal level. It's like sitting down with a good friend and having a conversation.

ANYTHING written by Max Lucado is worth reading. He takes every day occurances to find humor in them and then relate them to the Bible. This book reveals a way of thinking that our Savior is closer than you think.

This is Max Lucado at his best! Jesus is Savior of the world, King of Kings and Lord of Lords, but Max Lucado reminds us that He walked on earth in a human body, had emotions and thoughts, though Jesus never sinned. We cannot grasp the awesomeness of God, but Max reverently depicts Him on a level that we might humanly be able to understand.
See Jesus in a way you've never seen Him before.

So often we put God in a box on a really high shelf like we can't get to him. This book was a powerful reminder that Jesus walked this world in our flesh. He is accessible. Just look at the people he touched while here on earth.

Max does a great job showing Christ's want for an intimate friendship with us. He is there, waiting for us.
