New Super Mario Bros. (Nintendo DS, 2006)

1st of this game is just plain fun. simple as that. now too break it down more complex:
graphics:holy crap you would honestly think this was a psp game. no joke. these are some of the crispest graphics i have seen on the ds yet. and the framerate never slows down. 10/10
gameplay:mario's gameplay has always been perfect and it doesnt change in this title. the controls are just as well as any game out there.10/10
ds capabilites:and what i mean by that is how well it uses the ds's 2 screens to its advantage. and it does it pretty well. metroid does alot better though. you move with the D-pad. therefore the only thing the bottom screen does is it shows how far you are in a level i.e. on a huge line, a mario head is on it like a arrow.and it shows how many stars you have for that level. and just for your info. there is 3 stars per level. and you use them to buy different routse to the castle. 7.5/10
naustalga factor: this game really does feel like im back as a little kid playin mario 1 on the nes! in a good way. the levels are still basic yet intersting and sometimes challenging. and there is new power-ups to add to the fun factor. 1 is a shell similar to a koopa-koopas shell which is really fun killing them with by the way. and another one is the mini-mario powerup. it shrinks you down to get to certain areas of the level. and the last is the super-huge-mario power-up. it makes him ginormous and can just run through the entire level and never gets hurt.10/10
this game certainly does have a good length too it. it feels exactly right for a mario game. the boss battels are great and they are all fresh and differnet.
overall i would give this game a 10.5/10 if it was possible. but since its not i shall give it a 10/10.
it is an instant buy for any mario fans or nintendo fans. and i truly believe this will be the killer app for the ds.
