Chelsea Hotel
Dirty, deep, and beautiful, New Skin For The Old Ceremony is arguably Leonard Cohen's greatest masterpiece. There is something amazing about how the songs draw the listener in and captivate the senses. Never one to strive for commercial success, Cohen pushes the avant-garde envelope just enough to scare off the casual listener. I tend to think that this is intentional because in order to truly appreciate the great art that is taking place the listener must approach this as a student seeking answers to some great mystery. The attentive listener will be greatly rewarded. 5 Huge Stars.
