The New Roadside America by Doug Kirby, Ken Smith, Mike Wilkins (1992, Paperback, Revised)

I absolutely LOVE this book. It is well-written informational text, told with humor. The book is a collection of all of the craziest tourist attractions there are out there in the United States, and it includes some maps and driving directions. By reading this book, you can find out about (and how to get to) The Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame and Museum, the Spam Museum, Carhenge, and the Mitchell Corn Palace...just to name a few. If you like seeing funny things on car trips, this is the book for you. If you would rather just read about House on the Rock instead of visit it (probably a good idea), then find this book. No great bathroom library should be without it!
