This is the worst textbook I have ever had to use. The concepts are either not explained, or explained so poorly that even reading the material multiple times will not help you understand it any better. Many of the case problems ask you to perform tasks that were not covered in the chapter, so you are forced to spend many hours researching on the internet in order to complete the problems. This book is perfect for the person that wants to spend many frustrated hours in front of their computer.

Best Current Tutorial on XMLAfter doing a lot of research on books on XML, I decided the tutorial style New Perspectives on XML by Patrick Carey was the best and the most current. The next step was to find it new or used at the best price. I was surprised and pleased to find it on eBay at by far the cheapest price. Normally about $75, I got it for $35 plus $4 shipping and it was new and arrived undamaged. I am currently into the fourth chapter and it is very well written. It leads you a step at a time building on what you have already learned. Many technical/computer books jump around so much that you either read it twice to understand it or you give up on it and buy another. If you are looking for the best tutorial on XML, this is the book for you. Good luck finding a good price on it!
