The first of the so far three book series got me hooked, but the second book almost got me unhooked. I loved the first book surprisingly as it was full of teenage angst, and star crossed lovers with a great supernatural twist. However, I agree with other reviews in saying that, after Edward leaves a hundred or so pages in, the book becomes nothing but a "sob fest". I, like many other readers forced myself to finish the novel only in hopes that Meyer would redeem herself in her next book, which, if you read my other reviews, you will learn that she does.
I ordered this book for my granddaughter for Christmas. It arrived in plenty of time so I was happy with that. I gave it to her for Christmas and she started to read it. It was fine for the first 50 or so pages then it skipped about 10 chapters and picked up from there. She had a hard time finding all the pages they were so jumbled. It left out one whole chapter. I have never seen a book so messed up. I will not buy another book from this place
My 17 year old daughter got me atarted on this series of Twilight books. I love them. The story is enthralling and it makes you want to read more but hate for it to end.
Twilight, the first of the series, draws you in from the start. Although there is too much talk and not as much action, you're still in it from the start. This is a "sugar rush" if ever I saw one. There's so much "Lovey-Dovey" you're sure to think you need to get your blood sugar checked. That having been said, you still wouldn't consider not finishing the books. The comparisons between Meyer and J.K don't make any sense to me. Apples and oranges-they don't share anything other than they're both writers. Meyers writes a very young sounding book, J.K'S got a much broader appeal. Still, you're looking at a very compelling read and I'm personally thrilled to see they've made a film already. She's worked very hard and she deserves the success ten fold.
This book was just as amazing as the first. A very good read...i couldn't put it down. It was a lot more tear-jerking than the first one but there was a little less action. Still an excelent book!!
I love this whole series. I am a 41 yr old woman and still loved the action and the love story. Have not believed in vampires since "Interview with a Vampire". Forgot how much i love them. It is also refreshing to read a book with no graphic sex or profanity. Can not wait to see what happens. Who knew werewolves could be so caring.
After reading "Twilight" I LITERALLY went and bought the next book immediatly!
The book starts off shortly after the first book ended. Edward(the "vegitarian" vampire) quickly decided though that his presence will bring Bella more pain than anything else so he and his family leave town. In the aftermath Bella goes through the next 4 months in a dazed, closed, unattached manner until her father forces her to hang out with friends or go back to her mother. With that decision she decides to spend time with her friend Jacob Black who slowly starts pulling her back from her broken heart. When she finds out he is a werewolf it is no big deal to her since she's spent the past year hanging out with vampires. She does have a few concerns when people start vanishing though. Then she starts hearing Edward's voice whenever she finds herself in danger and she begins throwing herself into dangerous situations just to hear his voice.
I'd love to keep up the synopsis, but I don't want to give TOO much away.
I loved this book almost as much as the first. Where the first book was about Bella and Edward's relationship, this book explores "Bells" (Jacob's nickname for her) and Jacob's relationship. Will Edward come back to her or will Bella move on to find love with Jacob? READ IT and find out. It is worth it!
This second book in the Twilight series wrenches the guts of anyone who knows what it's like to be a teenage girls with a broken heart. The further development of the Jacob Black character and his relationship with Bella add realistic depth to our heroine's struggle to survive emotional devastation. The climactic resolution to Bella's crisis leaves us eagerly awaiting the next stage in her life. . .whatever that may mean.
I love how this book is setup. Bella has the conflict that everyone has at one point in their lives. The affairs of the heart is something I can relate to. Bella has the whole "which one do I love" situation. I love it. You just have to read it.
I decided to buy this book because it was the next one in the series I am currently reading. I bought it on ebay because it was cheaper and more convenient.
I bought New Moon immediately after finishing Twilight. The story continues with Bella and Edward in an amazing way. The twists and turns in this book continued to amaze me. I love how the story is fiction, but could very well be a real story. I am very eager to read the next two books in this set. I would highly recommend this book to anyone!
I didnt give it an excellent review for the fact that it took so long to get to the climax of this story...but however it is still good in showing her struggles to live without the love of her life and instead finds comfort and friendship with someone else. I bought the book because of the romance and wanting to know more about what happens between Edward...Bella...Jacob!
New Moon picks up a few months after Twlight left off, with Edward and Bella just as in love as ever and life proceeding as normally as it can when your boyfriend is a vampire. Bella's big problem is that with her birthday, she technically becomes older than Edward, and is still insistent on becoming a vampire so that she can be with him forever. Edward doesn't see things her way, and disaster strikes when an accidental paper cut at her birthday party causes the Cullens to have to fight to resist the sight of her blood. With this danger on his mind, Edward convinces Bella he no longer needs her and he and his family leave Forks.
This book is big on emotion; Meyer does an incredible job of forcing us to feel Bella's pain at losing Edward and her moments of joy when she realizes that doing dangerous stunts bring on the "sound" of his voice. We're led to understand the growing friendship between Bella and Jake, and Meyer pulls us in with the reveal of Jake's own problems. The relief Bella feels upon seeing Alice and then the terror of Edward's dilemma are all events that caused my heart to jump. Rarely do I get so caught up in the lives of characters, but Meyer makes it impossible not to. The fact that she moves her stories along less on action (though there is plenty of that at times) than on emotion is the driving success of both Twlight and New Moon, and the imprint all of the characters leave on you as you close the last page makes you want to simply turn the book over and begin again.
Highly, highly recommended for all who love well-drawn characters and inventive story-telling. Just be prepared to be disappointed as you are forced to wait for the next installment!
This book was a gift for my 18 year old daughter who had asked for it for her birthday. She loved the book. She's looking forward to the next book in the series. Her older sister loved the book as well.
I got this book on ebay because it is no longer printed bu the publisher. I was very happy with my purchase. The special edition has a beautiful poster on the reverse side of the book jacket and is sure to look good hanging on any wall. I also love the cute tattoos it came with. This is an excellent second addition to the Twilight Saga and is sure to keep you wanting more.
I had read the others in the series. This book was great as well. I cant put her books down. She is one of the most suspenseful authors. It is a good romantic suspense story. I cant wait till the next one the last one Breaking dawn comes out!!!!
It is such a wonderful story! Stephenie Meyer is a phenomenal author and I would recommend any of her books! I have read Twilight, New Moon, and The Host and finished each book in less than three days a piece! They are so riveting and keep your interest! These are excellent books, and New Moon is a great sequel to Twilight. I am looking forward to reading Eclipse and then Breaking Dawn, the sequels to New Moon and Twilight. I can't wait till they get here!
This book is an excellent book. The author is an excellent author. You wil not be disappointed. This book is good for the young and the old. You will not want to put it down. She is an excellent writer.
This ebayer was excellent! I would definitely do business with again. I really enjoyed this book. I am a huge twilight fan! This item came in the mail at the perfect time! Thanks!
This book was even better then the first. I can't wait to read the third one. This book had me angry at some parts and crying at the next. It is full of so much emotion. But Stephanie fails to impress at the end of the book.
this whole series has been excellent i thought the first book was better but you must read the whole series very cliff hanging and you just need to know whats going to happen
This book is just as good as the first. I lost it completely by the second chapter, and again later. This one had me crying more than Twilight!! The second installment in Meyer's Twilight series, is, without a doubt, just as amazing as the first. Meyer is very talented.
