This is a great anthology of warrior and other women. 18 excellent stories by both men and women. The book is worth buying for the poem "Sacrifices" about breast cancer. This poem especially touched me as my mom died of breast cancer in 2005. "Emrys" is about a women who learns to be her own beautiful, strong self after the bosses son tries to rape her. One of my favorite stories was "Messenger's Flight" about a girl who braves the Winter King to deliver a message to the Emperor after her brother, a royal messenger, broke his ankle while stopping home on the way to deliver a crucial message. My most favorite was the one where a women survives breast cancer to become a The Society of the Knife. From traveling to the past to healing magic to winning through all odds, this anthology has something for everyone!
