Theres not many things to even say about this. If you dont have it you need to go buy it. If you've never listened to Nirvana and havent heard these songs then you need to get with it and buy this. The cd's just a crutial piece of 90's music history.

This is the album that started it all - popularizing grunge, idolizing Kurt Cobain, introducing Nirvana, and inserting underground Rock into mainstream pop culture. Its hard to believe the album's quality - if you aren't overly familiar with Nirvana, you might listen to this album and assume its their greatest hits CD - after all, just about all of the tracks are now considered modern classics.

There are few albums that can be played from start to finished and enjoyed the entire way through. Moreover, there are few albums that can be listened to completely and be viewed as a single piece of art - with each of the tracks collaborating with the others. This album does both of those - masterfully.

I guess it is almost 20 years old, wow. This is the album that inspired me, and im sure many others to pick up a guitar. I grew up in the 90's and this album had a huge impact on me, and Nirvana still does. I think every song on here is a perfect mix of production, creativity and pure simple rock. It still stands above most of the popular rock that's out today. Major labels do get it right sometimes, and this is a great example.

This album is legendary. The reason why I gave it a 4/5 instead of a 5/5 is that there earlier recordings are so much better than this production.

This album is a must for anyone who loves rock music and its history. It is hard for me to describe to a young person today just what it felt like to hear this revolutionary music for the first time. Now, Nevermind is standard classic radio fare that has allowed alt bands like Death Cab for Cutie and The Killers to become pop stars, but in 1991, when bands like Poison dominated the airwaves, it was almost inconceivable that something as edgy, serious, and passionate would be heard by the mainstream.
In the late 80s and early 90s there was an alternative music movement that was bubbling just below the surface waiting for something to turn that simmer into a boil. That something was Nirvana, and it ignited a fire that blew the lid off Top 40 radio and changed the face of music.
I was 16 at the time and was already heavy into alternative music with Pixies, Sonic Youth and REM being my favorite bands. I don't remember the day or place I first heard Nevermind, but I remember the feeling. During those first opening notes of Smells Like Teen Spirit, my jaws dropped open. It was like everything I had heard before and nothing I had heard before all rolled into one. It was a conflicted feeling of de ja vu and that of entering a strange new world. It was my only musical experience like this to date and I don't think it happens very often. People who were around to first hear the Beatles or Elvis are probably the only other fortunate people to have a musical experience like this.
Despite the fact that Teen Spirit has become the most overplayed rock song of the decade (stealing the crown from Stairway to Heaven), it's still an absolute emotional rock freak-out best heard cranked up loud. What follows Teen Spirit is a musical masterpiece that blends all the best about rock music and turns it into a new genre. There are no bad songs here. It's hard to find albums like this today where its all about two or three hits with the rest being filler. Drain You is one of my favorite songs as is Lithium and Polly, but most of the time, I play this all the way through.
I highly recommend this music for any rock fan who really wants a complete collection. In fact, I'd recommend any Nirvana album, but to me this one is the most accessible for newcomers. Somewhat overproduced, yes, certainly over-reviewed, and hyped to the point of exhaustion, but don't let that stop you from missing Nevermind and an intense musical experience.

It looked like the hair bands of the 80s had taken complete control of the music scene,dont get me wrong it was good rockin party music,but it lacked originality and any sense of danger.Along comes kurt and Nirvana to energize the music scene in a way that had not been seen since the late 1960s.The group touched a nerve with the angst ridden youth of the early 90s and single handedly launched the grunge movement,a movement that continues to this day.This CD is a masterpiece of anger and attitude that stands the test of time and emerges as an all time classic.Unfortunatly the death of Kurt Cobaine ended this band much to soon,but this CD lives on as a testament to the brilliance and talent of a truely remarkable and talented band.

I honestly think this is the best album ever. Every single song is at worst really good if not great. I reccomend it to any RCOK fan or for those who love to ROCK.

Nirvana, darlings of the music scene, were not the innovators portrayed in popular press. Grunge had its roots much earlier than this disc. To hear true grunge, listen to Mother Love Bone, Green River or Screaming Trees who were doing this stuff pre-Nirvana. That said, there are a couple of decent tunes here. Teen Spirit, etc. Have this in your collection for reference, but check out earlier grunge bands. Sorry. Only average...

Love the band. CD came in, in perfect condition. CD was in it's original case and was packed very well. Decided to buy mostly because of a family sentimental value.

Nevermind is one of my favorite albums. Seriously, does it get better than this? No matter how many times I put it on it still has the powerful kick that it did when I first heard it so many years ago. EVERY true music fan has this in their collection! 5 Huge Stars.

The most AMAZING front man ever-Kurt Cobain! He will live in our hearts forever! This band was so cuting edge that alot of people did'nt understand them at first but after the word got out anyone who appreciates music can't utter a bad word about this CD! Whether you like Grudge or not. It is to date #1 in the minds of music fans!

From start to finish this album is sublime.One of the greatest(if not the greatest)albums of all time.Even the cover of the album means something.This album is sheer genius(and I haven't even listened to it for years).

Do you remember???? The scope of music at the time this came out was null and void. What a sudden impact "Nevermind" made on society. No one can make you feel like Cobain does in this power driven bevy of energetic music. By far, one of the top albums ever produced.

This will always be a rock classic even though the lead singer of this group kurt cobain has passed he lives on with the making of this cd. I must say this is the best cd that this band has released. My ipod is full of there songs.

when I was 12, this was my first cd. It got scratched up so i had to buy another one- a burned copy wouldn't do. If you've never heard this before, buy it.

I was not quite as impressed as my generational counterparts, although, I do have to admit that these boys do rock!
