The Neverending Story 2: The Next Chapter (DVD, 2001)

Bought because child enjoyed first movie. This movie, number II, was NOT near as good and the monsters very unrealistic compared to 1st movie. Overall Kids like it though.

They definitely could've done better with this movie. The special effects in this movie are pretty subpar, considering even the first one was more convincing. You'll notice right off that Falcor is an animatronic head, and that it's a figurine tied to a string when he flies anywhere. You can also tell when Bastian is replaced with a figurine or when he is behind a green screen. And when I think about how great the effects in Star Wars were, this movie being released ten years later is insulting. This makes me believe this movie was just produced half-heartedly without any real care for the series. Bastian is a pretty good role, and the actor who plays him pulls it off successfully, but Atreyu comes off as a cyborg.

I remember watching these movies religiously as a child. When I purchased this movie, I had high hopes. Unfortunately, I was let down.

80's graphics......child-level acting.....this movie is definitely for children. The moral's there and all, but it will not be eyecatching for anyone over ten.

I had purchased The Neverending Story. My 6 year old liked it so much I went to ebay for The Neverending Story 2. He has enjoyed it much more than I. I missed the original cast. The story was OK for me. My rating would be Average but the child factor gave it a Good.

A good movie, but not as great as the first one. Glad they kept some of the same characters. Still a good story and a great fiction movie for kids.

we have never ending story I and the kids loved it. therefore we decided to get the 2nd one. and the kids loved that one too.

ebay was perfect to find it at a very nice price.

Not as good as the first one, but still entertaining for children and a few of us oldies. Moral of story is a good one for kids. Special effects are good but not as good and the first one. Bought so I would have both 1 and 2 for the grandkids.

There was nothing about this movie that I didn't like. I purchased it because my children enjoyed this movie in the 1980s and I wanted my grandchild to enjoy it now. Although it wasn't as fast paced as the flicks are now she did enjoy it and I got to see it again after all these years. Thanks to the ebay seller the price was affordable.

this movie was nothing like the original. totally different cast terrible quality and you can not replace atreyu with that kid, its just not the same.. i want this 2 hours of my life back.

First one was better than second one but still is something to watch and the younger audience might like it much better than I

The movie has a plot and the moral story is positive. In adversity the boy stands up to trouble and rallies the other to help the people. The boy overcomes his fear by steping out to face them. A good role model is this film.

I bought it to help my grand children to learn the importance of not giving up and that nothing is impossible if you believe and have friends who will help and encourage you.

My 2 year old g.son saw the first and didnt leave his seat throught the entire movie

this movie is not as good as the first one but it's ok its a little bit less exciting but it has the same fictional type filling and mystery

I decided to buy The Neverending Story on DVD b/c it was easily available on ebay. I had such an easy time finding what I wanted. I love watching movies that remind me of my childhood, maybe b/c I remember so little of it and want to feel like a kid again. The story of The Neverending Story, where a boy has to use his imagination to keep another world, Fantasia, alive is just so awesome to me. I am writing a series of children's books for my little one and this story of Bastian and Fantasia help my imagination to wonder the possibilities!

This movie is really nice. Its a movie that my nephew really enjoys watching, and so do I. Thank You.

I loved the first one it was one of my childhood favorites ,and I thought this one would be the same as it was ,and it is a amazing fantasy timeless childerns film!! Wanted my childern to experience the wonders of the show in a new era it made me feel like a kid again!!!very good moive I would also recommend the first if you could find it !

I simply loved this movie. Watched it with my daughters regularly. The adventure was just wonderful, I just had to have it for my collection. My daughters now older still cant wait for movie night so we can watch it again and again.
