The Return of Never Say Never Again
A long overdue remaster of an old (independent) James Bond movie marking the return (after 12 years) of the original Bond, Sean Connery. The movie itself has a worthy place in film history. Despite constant legal threats from the official Bond franchise, a decent movie was produced. There are better entries in the series and there are worse but of main concern here is the welcome sight of seeing Connery in the role one last time. Looking better than he did in his last 1971 outing, Sean provides the goods. The transfer here is the best available thus far and the extras (including a very good commentary) are decent enough. An addition of the original title song (by Phyllis Hyman) would have been nice but, then again, don't we really have to expect, as usual, a future upgraded edition of some kind.
