Needful Things (DVD, 2002)

I loved the movie, almost as much as i loved the book. The book was more in depth (naturally), but the movie was awesome. And the actors chosen to play the parts did very very well with their actions.

We love having "Stephen King" movie marathons.
Makes for great family time. Keeps everyone sitting together sharing and enjoying each other. Your kids will love it.

My girlfriend and I are both Stephen King "Freaks"...She is an OTR truck driver & I spent two weeks in the semi with her. We listened to the Audio Book and it was awesome. It was narrated by Stephen King himself. So when I came across the movies I had to purchase two copies. One for the truck and one for the house collection. Not only was it a great movie but a great buy as well. I also saved money on the shipping for purchasing two of them. They were both as stated in the auction; New and Unopened. For a Stephen King fan, I would recommend adding this to your collection too.

I already have Needful Things on VHS, but I bought it on DVD hoping the cut scenes would be in this version. There were not. It's difficult to find a movie with the deleted scenes intact, but the movie itself is excellent.

I watched this the same day as receiving. I was so glad to add this to my Stephen King DVD collection. This movie has a lot of action in it as well as the drama that others demand. This would be a perfect date movie, there's something for both in it. The storyline is slow in some spots but in most, it's very fast. It will keep you on the edge of your seat and wonder what the next step has in store. This is an all-time Stephen King classic. You will wonder why someone could sell their sole and do just about anything for material items. I have been to Bangor, Maine, home of Stephen King, there is a store there called, "Needful Things". They only take cash and credit cards.

I purchaced this movie because I had It on V.H.S. and wanted to get It on D.V.D.. I liked this movie very much and would recommend It to my friends.

This is one Stephen King's better adaptions from book to movie

One of my favorite novels...so much I named my store after it.
It is slow moving in some parts,

This is a classic Stephen King movie! I love the Stephen King movies and books because of the fact that the author writes these based on his own childhood fears. It really tells you a lot about what this author went through as a child. We all had our own childhood demons and it's kind of fun when we can identify with what Stephen King feared. Needful Things reminds us what we were willing to give up or do in order to obtain those most desired things we wanted as children and even as adults!

Its Stephen King, shall I say anymore? The movie was excellent, and yet hard to find in retail stores, thus I found it here at Ebay. In which I had to purchase. I would recommend this movie to anyone who is a Stephen King fan and who may be into the horror of it all. Thanks Ebay.

Set in the small township of Castle Rock - a fictional location created by Stephen King - 'Needful Things' is the tale of an antiques shop run by Leland Gaunt, the Devil himself, played by Max Von Sydow. As the proprieter of the New England business, Gaunt gets his claws into the town, just as antiques dealer Straker did in the King masterpiece 'Salem's Lot'.

Sheriff Alan Pangborn (Ed Harris, 'The Creepshow' & 'The Stand') does not buy the salesman's evil pitch. He sees straight through Gaunt's evil plan immediately.

Incidentally, Pangborn also turns up in King's 'The Dark Half' and is played in the subsequent movie by Michael Rooker. Ace Merril from 'Stand By Me' also appears in King's novel but is ommitted from the movie. In fact there is much missing from the movie that can be found in the novel, but this is always the case with Stephen King adaptations. The movie does not let fans down, though ... the characters are well acted, dark and moody ...

Gaunt practically buys his way into the township, offering the residents antiques of their choice in return for payment of their souls. It is up to Pangborn and Polly Chambers (relation of Chris Chambers in 'Stand By Me' aka 'The Body') played by Bonnie Bedelia ('Salem's Lot') and schoolboy Brian Rusk to bring down Gaunt.

Typically 'Needful Things' is set in small-town Stephen King Maine --- a part of the world that will forever be associated with the horror author. The scenery is stunning, especially the coastline. There is plenty of action as well as a thriller feel and some very amusing moments too. Fans of 'Salem's Lot' will identify with this film, notably the similarities in story and characters. Evil invades a small town, slowly influencing its inhabitants, especially the obligatory young boy (related to King's own childhood escapades perhaps?)

So enter 'Needful Things' and indulge your curiosity. But a little curiosity shop this is not. Probably one of the better Stephen King adaptations.

I always liked the movie and I always wanted to get it. So I was looking on ebay and saw it and decided to get it to add to my collection.

i saw this movie when it first came out. i thought it was quite unique and yet, it is true about human nature. always wanting something & never quite satisfied and how wanting the things that are not intended for you can lead you astray. well done. enjoyable.

Love S.King books and movies and keep a collection. This was a DVD I did not have in my collection. I paid a great price for it on e-bay and actually found it when I could not find it in stores.

Maybe a little bit more action was good for this movie, but anyway for me it is perfect already. One of the best Stephen King's adaptation.

The moral of the story is what makes this movie worth watching. The story itself has some problems and the acting is good but not great.

This is one of my favorite movies and I was gald to get it for so much less than I would have paid in a store. I have had back surgery and it is difficult for me to shop in a regular store, so to be able to get what I want, when I want it at a discounted price makes me very happy
