Need for Speed Carbon (Collector's Edition) (PC Games, 2006)

NFSC is an excellent choice for racing fans. You have a wide selection of cars, from tuners to muscle. You can do races, drift, canyon race, run from the police, or just free roam the city. It can provide many hours of entertainment. If you aren't driving, you will probably be playing with the paint job, adding upgrade parts, or molding body panels to suit you. Pick this one up if you love racing games!

As each NFS game hits the market with a new title, we find some new improvements (e.g.,Graphics, which have also improved the frame-rates, better story lines,a cool featurette and better cars)What I found to be most impressive, was the "hands on" features. NFS Carbon Collector's Edition,is close to have come "full circle".

I bought this game for Three reasons. (1) An addition to my collection along with curiousity. (2) Addiction to SSSSSSPPPPPPEEEEEEEEDDDDDDDD. I simply love Sims that fly, float, and in this case,DRIVE ON ASPHALT! (3)The awesome Visuals and Audio.

Yeah, this is my first written review on Ebay, does it matter? Sure. Yeah, I've read a few that have given this game poor reviews, does that matter, sure it does. On the other hand, I wrote this review, because I have 17 years of program writing/designing/Audio under my belt, and several of those have been games; games that I am sure you've played yourselves. My point; the programmers that are contracted to work under Electronic Arts,(A previous employer), have worked hard to put this one together. There is A LOT INVOLVED when creating an embellished game such as this one,and EA just keeps getting better and better as they make those technological leaps (forward).Come on, take them out for a spin, and as you drive, Build a crew, or simply sit there in your car of choice, take the time to listen,stare at the surfaces and look deep into the colors of every curve, to see what it really took to make NFS Carbon Collector's Edition look and sound so GREAT...

well i decided to buy it since i have the series of all the need for speeds and i really like the career mode....i really love tuning cars so its gr8 playing that game always wanna go to the next level to tune the car more nd drive faster and faster........what i really love abt this edition is that u get to tune all the muscle cars old american cars which i love and the just put the speed meter to the limit.....i love it..

This is another one of those Electronic Arts Need for Speed Releases. This game has nice story, the videos in there are excellent quality. The only thing is that the graphics are not as good as expected. It is actually less graphic then the previous release. The cars in there are nice and hooked up. Races and handling are great. Great Game, Recommended!

Excelletn game. This one has bonus DVD with bonus features. I bought this one Because of being a collector's Edition. Has great graphics and great sound traks. Excellent story too. I love need for speed games.

I am a collector of the NFS series, Most Wanted is probably my favorite and High Stakes a close second. Carbon... Well The graphics are good, and the gameplay combines some elements of Most Wanted with Underground. You can only race at night. And it is a bit on the short side. But over all its not a bad game. I just hope the next NFS is more like High Stakes.

First of all, I need to say that I own all of the Need for Speed games. It's a passion of mine, so when I read on the Carbon forums that the game would need a stronger video card than the one I had, I was heartbroken. But, I couldn't stay away. I found a useable video card here on eBay, bought it & got the game. I don't regret it at all. The game, though, goes much quicker than the others in the series (you get done faster). The graphics are the best, as usual, but it does have crashing problems similar to Most Wanted. You have a challenge series like MW does, but one of my favorite things to do is go into the quick race & practice drifting & I've gotten pretty good at it. Canyon racing is very tough. You have to stay as close to your opponent when he is leading. The closer you are (without hitting him) the more points you get. However, Canyon Racing is a 2 part thing. After you chase him, he chases you & you have to lose him if you can, or the points you just earned disappear. Canyon drifting is also very tough because the road is so narrow. The cars are really the heart of the game. You can do a couple of things to acquire them: earn them playing the game, or go to the website & buy the cars, which is what I did. Some that they offer online aren't available to earn in the game. Certain cars have certain strengths. The Hemi Cuda and the Dodge Challenger are tough to use in race conditions because they're so torquey. However, they're great on drifts, as you want the back end to step out on you.

Love the game, bought it for PS2 and the graphics are awsome! THe story mode is a contuation of Most Wanted and its the same city but in the "future" years later...the #1 Blacklist guy you try to get away from (forget his name), Graphics are best as they come for PS2...BEST RACING GAME OUT THERE!

This game is so crisp clear. I love how you dan pick either to pick a muscle car, tuner, or exotic. Not so many annoying endless police chases like "Most Wanted". I love the canyon racing/drifting. Overall great game!

Very good game, the drift , is sooo fun, i love the Ford GT!
Only bad thing about this game is that it does not Have Ferrari cars in it!!

Got in the mail really quickly, and in fantastic condition. Runs great on my dell Studio 1555 laptop & my desktop at home. Wanted a great racing game, and I got one.

Amazing game! The graphics are unbelievable and the gameplay is so real. It is also a very clean game that is centered around cars, not girls. I love this game!

One of the best racing games to date! Many cool cars to choose from. Some really exciting police chases. The cars look very cool as well.

I actually purchased this for my teen son and he absolutely enjoys it. Though I think he gets too much into the game itself, ie shouting when things don't go as desired or slamming his hand on the desk top. ;) Graphics are well done, gaming is well done.

i buy it coz i like cars and racing game, and everything in this game is wonderful. cars, graphics, plot, everything. the only thing that sucks is i dunno how to unlock Audi R8 so that i can modify it.. well, thats not really a big issue.
anyways, this game rocks....

Need For Speed Carbon not only adds the arcade mode, but has a in depth story mode to play along with. With great cars, and every single upgrade imaginable this game brings allot to the racing game empire.

Cool racing game, great improvement on the older ones. Fun to play, not too hard and not too easy. Good graphics and car choices.

Need for Speed Carbon overall is a fun to play and fairly addicting game. However, after completing the campaign, players will be left wanting more, as the campaign is fairly short. Though the game offers a very large variety of vehicles and mods, actual game play may get repetitive, though not nearly as bad as previous NFS games. Overall, it's a fun to play single player game, albeit repetitive. A little bit above your typical upgrade and race game, I would give it a solid 3/5.

NFS Carbon is a fun addition to the NFS franchise. The drift mode is back, which I love, and it even offers the added thrill of trying to avoid falling off of a cliff. A must have for any NFS fan.

From all NFS games the one that I like most is Porsche. Every next generation was nice in some way, although did not give you all this options which you could find in NFS V.
Carbon (either "regular" or Collector's Ed.) is pretty much the same like Underground. I would even say that some races look very similar.
The new thing is 3 different car options. It will allow you to find your own way - the choice depends on your driving skills and tuning needs.

Few thing that I do NOT like:
- "look behind" key is "L" and you can't change it (its helpful to look behind when you are "racing" with cops ;) )
- info about territories is being shown exactly in the middle of the screen, in other words it covers the view
- no camera "inside" with view on gauges, steering wheel and so on

Except those things I like this game. If you like racing, I suggest to try this one.
If you have not had a chance to play NFS, try older versions. I would recommend to start with NFS V (Porsche).
