Ned Kelly (DVD, 2004)

I really like this movie. I picked it up because it's an Orlando Bloom movie, but I found that it was quite educational. Ned Kelly is based on a real person who lived in Australia. He is thought to be the inventor of bullet proof armor (to some extent) - and did it all because of an injustice in the justice system.

i decided to buy this movie because after Heath Ledger died i wanted to collect each of the movies he was in. The movie was good, but the accents were so strong my husband kept on asking me what they were saying....and that gets annoying after awile. the story was good though and a few of the characters were strong. i recomend the movie to anybody who has no problems understanding people with accents!

Having read many novels depicting the rejection of the Irish in that day this film captures the jealousy and the hatred felt across the globe for the Irish. While the Jewish nation catches must of this type of hatred through the ages, the Irish weren't unscathed. You are taken through a series of insignificant events that lead to something much more. In fact to the core of the matter is the Irish determination that was taken to its ultimate challenge. Stubborness is the nickname but heart is the matter. From beginning to end Ned Kelly wins the hearts of many as souls suffer. Even the enemy comes to admire the courage, hope, honor, and determination of this underestimated hero turned outlaw.

I only saw part of this movie due to having a bad copy of the disc. What I saw seemed good but not having seen it all I can not judge it to well.

The true story of Ned Kelly is one that needed to be told. He was a true hero of his time. Fighting against the harsh Land Lords of Ireland, and took a stand for the common folk and made a everlasting statement in the process.
Highly recommend!

Emerging from prison after an early run in with the law, Ned is escorted home by friends Joe Byrne (Orlando Bloom) and Aaron Sheritt (Joel Edgerton), and knuckles down to a life of farming and horse herding. His only distraction appears to be his beautiful but married English neighbour Julia (Naomi Watts), but there’s a local copper called Fitzpatrick who has taken a shine to his sister Kate (Kerry Condon). So while Ned is away in the hay with Julia establishing an alibi – in scenes so clunking they bring an unintentional Ted and Ralph Fast Show hilarity to the script’s leaden Lady Chatterly aspirations – a drunken Fitzpatrick has crashed the Kelly home and had his advances repelled.
Chastised, his hand bleeding, Fitzpatrick returns to town claiming that Ned shot him. As a precaution, Ned and Joe, plus brother Dan (Laurence Kinlan) and friend Steve (Phil Barantini), hide out in the hills, but the police still arrest Ned’s mother (Kris McQuade) on a trumped-up charge of attempted murder. A desperate Ned slinks back to plead with Julia to prove his innocence, but fearful of losing her children, she refuses.
Essentially now Robin Ned and his merry oiks, stealing from the rich and giving to the Irish underclass, they acquire beards to rival their enemies and pen letters of insult and social comment to the establishment as they loot their banks.A wily operator, Hare persuades Sheritt to betray the gang, but they avoid an ambush and Byrne kills his former friend. The scene is now set for a final showdown in the Glenrowan hotel, with cops arriving en masse and the gang standing their ground with all-over body armour. It’s by far the best part of the film, though nothing that hasn’t been seen before in a Western.

Enactment of a true story. Hard to watch in some places but a very good story. Love me some Heath Ledger!

This is a great movie if you love movies based on History and True events!!! It's a great movie with great actors. But, beware, it can get a little bloody in some scenes.

i love this movie it is so hard to find certian heath ledger movies and ebay was the only place i could find it

This movie was quite good. We never knew it even existed till we saw a preview of it on another movie we were watching. We looked for it in town for a while and even tried a buy, sell, and trade movie store with no luck. After a few months we decided to try on-line, and now we have it. I was amazed at the low prices this movie was selling for. I mean, where else can you buy a good movie for so little???

I had been bidding on some things on ebay, and my boyfriend finally wanted me to get him some movies. One day he finally remembered that he liked this movie and wanted it. Thanks so much for getting it to me so fast i was getting tired of him saying Ned Kelly 100 times a day.

this is an exceptional movie with heath ledger as ned kelly. It is a western set many years ago and the actors performed exceptionally and the plot of the movie was extremely good. i recommend this movie to all that like the western aspect and the early years.

We liked the movie, we love to watch Heath Ledger act.We will be ordring more movies, we got this one at a good price.

Heath Ledger was very good as usual (what a terrible loss of great talent.) but movie was somewhat slow, and predictable.

I loved Heath Ledger in a Knight's Tale, he brought his charismatic personality to this role as a knight of non-noble birth. He tries to fake his nobility by getting a scribe to write forged documents. It really is good, and Shannon Sossamon is excellent as well. The on-screen chemistry between her and Heath is just fantastic. I especially love the dance scenes. I've always wanted this movie and decided to buy it in rememberance of Heath Ledger. He was an awesome actor and will be missed.

Well, I bought this movie for my father. I'm not really fond of western movies, but he seems to love it.

I bought the Ned Kelly DVD because I absolutely adore Orlando Bloom and now own every film he has ever done. The movie its self was rather disappointing but I managed to stay awake through the entire film.

The reason why I purchased the movie is because I am a huge Orlando Bloom fan . I am trying to purchase the movies he has made prior to the pirates and lOTR movies. The movie was very good and in perfect condition.
