I understand that documentarys are not for everyone. However, its through other's life stories we learn something of our own, perhaps its a more insightful view of the importance of even small life's decisions. This Jewish woman's life story unfold's into a series of life threatening events that juxtapose into an amazing story of self-preservation. She rose above just surviving and entered into thriving at a time she should have been gased to death. Amazing, powerful, and insightful.

This was a horrible and very good story at the same time..Told through the eyes of and by the survivor....This is a documentary, so if you don't like documentaries you will not like this...I love anything that tells the true story...This is also long, but very much worth watching...Anything that keeps alive, and tells the story of "the Holocaust" is very much worth watching...What a horrible time to have lived through.....I absolutely loved this...

I loved the whole thing..it was hard though to see the death all around though...My grandfather was from Austria and most of my family are Jews...and I also wondered why didn't more leave before Nazi's hit...
I don't believe in luck..as I'm Messianic..and God's heart was breaking at the sight of His people being murdered..but He did use people to help Edith...People should buy this documentary and many like it..to remember the past...because if people forget the past it repeats itself...People should know that the Holocaust occured..and that evil exists in the world because of satan...

Excellent documentary. So glad that after all the suffering and struggles this woman went to to hide her identity in order to stay alive, she made it and lives to tell of it.

I first read the book then wanted to see the "live" version. It is a very interesting story, both in book version and on DVD.

The Nazi Officer's Wife, about WW2 era
Review created: 10/07/08

Stunningly photographed with appropriate footage that transports the viewer back in time--in fact the viewer feels as if present even at the (Nazi patrolled) train station--yet questions are raised which are difficult to answer. Included is commentary by the woman herself, who posed as "Non-Jewish" and actually married a Nazi officer, and then survived the war. It is difficult to list the questions withoug giving plot away, but consider: to return, in a "borrowed" identity, to the "native" city, with a Nazi husband (who is aware of the alias), and to introduce him to a former boyfriend who himself has a slightly "changed" background but is pro the German regime, is an action never quite explained in this dvd. The documentary is nevertheless compelling, and eminently watchable.

Excellent! Every Nazi survivor story is of interest, but this one has enough twists to rival a Hollywood Blockbuster!
