The Nazi Officer's Wife, about WW2 era
Stunningly photographed with appropriate footage that transports the viewer back in time--in fact the viewer feels as if present even at the (Nazi patrolled) train station--yet questions are raised which are difficult to answer. Included is commentary by the woman herself, who posed as "Non-Jewish" and actually married a Nazi officer, and then survived the war. It is difficult to list the questions withoug giving plot away, but consider: to return, in a "borrowed" identity, to the "native" city, with a Nazi husband (who is aware of the alias), and to introduce him to a former boyfriend who himself has a slightly "changed" background but is pro the German regime, is an action never quite explained in this dvd. The documentary is nevertheless compelling, and eminently watchable.
