Navigon 2100 GPS Navigator Car GPS Receiver

I purchased the Navigon 2100 as my first GPS. The NAVIGON® 2100 is slim, stylish, easy to use. It has a 3.5" touchscreen display, simple to maneuver menus and coast-to-coast map coverage . Navigating the road is made easier with spoken turn-by-turn directions including street names. The Reality View provides realistic 3D map view of some complex intersections. It has points-of-interest pre-loaded, restaurants, hotels, gas stations, etc. Another feature is Automatic Speed Warnings (YOU MIGHT WANT TO TURN THIS ONE OFF !) This unit is new so you might wait for a while till they workout the bugs, my unit gave up the ghost after one month. Customer support was poor, however the retailer stood behind the product and sent me a new one when Navigon customer support drug their feet. PS the mounting device for the windshield
lets loose with regularity - my screen finally shattered!!!

Worked for a week. Powers on but can't find satelites. When it did work the screen was so small that you need glasses to see it. Thinks I will stay clear of Navagon units.

The GPS gives good directions and is self explanatory when using. The only thing I don't like about it is how long it takes to register an onscreen touch. It takes a second to register that you touched the screen and it can slow you down while trying to type in an address. Other then that it works great.
I bought it because it was cheaper then the Garmin and after reading reviews from other websites it was clear to me that this unit was equal in comparison to the Garmin. Many people said it worked just as well as the Garmin and since I've used the Garmin before, and liked it, I thought it would be a good purchase. I am very happy with it and have no complaints (except for the one mentioned above). I would recommend it because it is cheaper and works just as good.

I gave up a Magellan and got this. We also own a Garmin streetpilot i5. The Garmin is nice, but dated. It was the best I could find at the time. Now, 3 years later, a lot has changed. After spending time with various models at Circuit City and Best Buy, I decided to give the Nvagion a chance. The wife sometimes gets confused in these crazy intersections in Pittsburgh, and I thought Reality View made sense. Boy did it. The street names are spoken clearly, the graphics are great. The mounting system is a little, well, different. It seems backwards. It works, however, so you cant complain too much. The poi's on this unit are unbelievable. You do have to spend a few minutes in setup to let it know if you want speed warnings, banks, restaurants, an etc to show up. Once you've done that, its almost perfect. I say almost, because if you choose to put in your own poi to search for, it kind of erases as you type if its not finding a match That is annoying. But, all in all, this one is my favorite. ill be replacing my garmin with the same soon.

I purchased this unit for my parents (in their 70's) who are not technologically advanced (neither have a cell phone). I read many reviews of the Navigon 2100 and most said,"...it was slow when recalculating routes." I disagree. Like most in the media, the "birds on a wire" just copied and pasted the other review's pros and cons. It recaculates as quickly as my Garmin 330. However, I wish it had as many accessories as the Garmin. When my friends ask me, I tell them,"If I had it to do over, I would buy a Navigon rather than a Garmin. Just as good, but for about 1/2 the money.

THE SCREEN SHOT OF THE 3D LANE ADVISER IS VERY MISLEADING TO THE QUALITY OF THIS PRODUCT. THE GPS DISPLAY IS HORRIBLE AND THE SPEAKER IS VERY WEAK. IF SOMEONE GAVE THIS GPS BETTER THAN A BELOW AVERAGE RATING HAS NEVER OWNED ANYTHING ELSE. I PURCHASED THIS GPS SO THAT I COULD GIVE MY GARMIN NUVI 200 TO MY PARENTS BUT MY GARMIN BURIES THIS PIECE OF JUNK IN EVERY ASPECT OF A GPS DEVICE. THE TOUCHSCREEN ON THE NAVIGON IS HORRIBLE, YOU ALMOST HAVE TO BREAK YOUR FINGER PRESSING SO HARD TO GET A CERTAIN BUTTON TO ACTIVATE. TRUST ME BUY SOMETHING ELSE, THE GARMIN NUVI IS HARD TO BEAT AND MY PARENTS LIKED MY NUVI SO MUCH I WOULD HAVE LIKED TO GIVE IT TO THEM BUT I CANT SEEM TO MAKE ANY USE OF THE NAVIGON EXCEPT AN OVER 1OO DOLLAR PAPER WEIGHT.

The Navigon unit is Great for the Price! As far as compared to a Garmin, it does have some advantages, such as the true life lane directions. This is a great feature. The only draw back to the Navigon from a Garmin is the small area for typing in directions. Overall the Navigon is a great system. Like all electronics, you have to get used to it and adjust it to your liking. I would recomend anyone wanting a inexspensive GPS to try the Navigon. I would buy another. This is my second GPS unit with the first being a Garmin.

The navigon 2100 turned out to be a very good gps, it's more accurate than my tomtom, and comes with many features that are not available on this price range, like text to speech.

I always wanted one so I won it on ebay. got it pretty quickly and the gps is really easy to use. the touch screen is awsome. bright screen is a plus.
for the money it's all and all I good pick.

This is the best GPS I have seen/used. This baby is very accurate and percise, it will tell you right where the drive way is. I highly recommend this for first time users.

Gave this to my Stepfather who likes to travel. Big bright screen and 3d views of the maps, This unit gave verbal commands for every turn. He was very impressed and so was I.

This is a great contraption. I use it all the time to get me to place to place. The only thing is it doesnt have all the address's in it. especially since i live in a new area but other then that it is great no complaints

Navigon 2100 is my second GPS navigator. I have used to Garmin StreetPilot C550.
The design of Navigon is much better, it is slim and stylish, also, there is very good option of voice directions of the street names, but there are some vices in this unit comparing to Garmin. First of all, the sound of woman's voice is very synthetic, robotized, comparing to Garmin's natural voice.
The menu browser is less frienly than in Garmin, and this unit has very small buttons on the touchscreen. I have not big fingers, and anyway it is not easy to
tap the buttons.
There is no warning when the unit is recalculating the route.
And the biggest problem is- to enter the street name and city! The menu is absolutely not friendly, Usually it takes me 3 or 4 times to enter the address correctly!
However, this unit is comparetively cheep, and it has some pluses, like design, 3-D view and streets name pronounciation, so I gave it 4 stars.

By the way, I have been waited for the delivery of this unit for more than 10 days, and the seller forgot to include the SD card with map and software.
Then I contact the seller, and he did not reply to me for more than a week, then he shipped me the card, and I had to wait till it is shipped in a week again!
So, 3 weeks shipping is not a good deal, hah?

I like this product a lot. It was a very good buy. It gets me to where I have to go! I like the different views that are offered. I also like how quick the product was shipped to me. Overall good product.

I wanted the item for my wife's Christmas. It was delivered in only 3-days, carefully packaged. The itemd was exactly as advertized and picured. I'm very impressed with this seller and strongly recomend him to others.

The unit is refurbished but like brand new adding to my excitment to use the product every time I get in my car!!! My hat's off!!!

Price was right, but screen is a little hard to use with big fingers or arthritic fingers. Would have liked to return it.

this product was exactly what i expected for the price that i purchased it for. it works great and looks really nice in my truck.

I love this gps. It works very well, and is very easy to use. The text to speech is very accurate, and the maps are too. It has several features that can be useful, for example the take me home feature. It stores your home address, and can take you home from anywhere. It also has speed control , tells the speed limit and if you go over the speed limit. The only fault that I have found so far, is that the screen is very small, and it is hard at times to push the correct letters and numbers, but I am getting used to it.
Overall, it seems to be working great.

Great GPS. Good value for your money. If you are looking for an entry level GPS with all the features like text-to-speech, reality view and other things - then this is the GPS you want to buy!

i love the price, after i buy it, i went online to the big stores and read the reviwes from the people and the 50% complained about the product but i agree with the other 50% who mentioned this is a great product. Also mentioned that this GPS only fixed some kind of cars and my wasn't include but actually that's a lied because this fixed perfect. If i have the oportunity i should be brought for my dad
