Navigon 2000S GPS Receiver

Pros:

Features that most higher priced GPS Don't have. Such as Lane assist and text to speech.

Once it managed to retrieve acquisition, it generates a route pretty fast.

Resolution is above average for its price range.

Very compact

Cons:

Takes too long to acquire position. I average about 10-15 minutes. But after that its fine.

There's no LED that indicates that the unit is charging once plugged into a car or computer.

Won't impress your friends because the brand isn't as big as Garmin or TomTom

Conclusion: Great unit for the price. The only legitimate thing that I'm annoyed about the unit is the length of time that it takes to acquire a position. It only happens once when you turn it on and set your first route. Other than that, it's hard to not like it.

i bought a Navigon 2000S GPS. i need it one beacuse i was going to travlo. when i got it i did noice that the gps wood take a long time to finde the satterlites. so when i started to travol it frozd on me 5 times. h stop aat a radio shack and got a new gps and send this one back. so the Navigon 2000S GPS did not work for me .

I always wanted one of these and read a reveiw on Deal of The Day on this model. Used it and loved it. It worked and was actually fun. It was a good experience all around. Got it for half of what the original price was. Very pleased. Quality of item is great

Pro's:
I love the way it displays/tells you how to exit a freeway, text-to-speech is phenomenal, and it gets me where I'm going without taking odd/circuitous routes.
Con's:
Slow boot phase, has difficulty obtaining satellite connectivity.

I even got my granddaughter's nod on this, as she thought it was super neat and a good deal. We used it two weeks ago, and it took us right where we wanted to be. I like the size, as it is not in my way, but bright enough to see as I drive and glance at it. It came from Tiger Plus.

it and that it has a great price also.and would like to say it works Beautiful.

I just completed a 2300 mile road trip from San Diego to Cincinnati with this product and I would not go on another trip without it.It is user friendly and dependable.I have owned more expensive GPS units that had less features than the Navigon.

This unit has several features that I love. The lane assist for one makes it a breeze to navigate those crazy exits that you would normally miss. Also the current speed limit is great ,so you never have to wonder what the speed limit is on a road. One down side is that if your a speeder it constantly warns you that you are traveling to fast. Other then that the only other down side is that when first turned on it takes a little long to connect to the satellite to update you current position. however once it does connect it works great. All in all its a great device for the price.

navigon 2000-s is a nice working gps it get to satlites fast-turn by turn and speech feactures are great-i love it- good buy for the money-

Love this little gps...touch screen, voice prompts, it even reads the street names of the next turn! For the money, it's probably the best value in GPS's out there. In fact, for any money this little gem is a great value.

I am very pleased with all the features. It hasn't steered me wrong yet.
It displays street names. It tells you in plenty of time before your next turn. It give you an estimated time of arrival, Direction of travel, miles per hour you're traveling and a lot more. It has all the features you could get in an expensive model and an affordable price.

I love it , because it come with all the accessory with the GPS and a very good value for the price.

I was very interested in the product and if was purchasing the item for myself and not someone else I would have taken it. The negative thing is that for warranty work there was no place in canada that the goods could be shipped out for immediate repair. Seeing they were going to be purchased as a christmas gift i didn't think that would be a very good idea.

The Navigon 2000S was a great deal, and now I see why. Its navigation ability is questionable. My husband and I have been playing with settings for two weeks trying to find the combination that will get the system to actually take us to a location in the best method. So far, we are not impressed. The Navigon does not "like" to take you on what we would consider back-roads. So, if we followed its directions to anywhere from our house it would add 30 min+ to each direction of travel. My hope is that with our upcoming trip that the Navigon won't take us too far out of the way to get to our destinations.

Great GPS fort he price i got! precise, easy to install and configure. Came with option to use in both french or english. i would recommand anyone to buy this item as i am fully satisfied with it.
