A Good Text to Learn Navajo

If you are an English-speaking person, you will find that this textbook has a complete pronunciation guide and cultural explanation of the Navajo language. Don't let the 1967 copyright date bother you; it was the best done and nothing has compared to it since. Then language has not changed.
You will find it has common conversational sections and explanations behind the meanings of words. Navajo is a whole-concept language. There are root words but with inflections of tones, guttural sounds and additions of words, as one word has several meanings and applications. When I was taught this language, I used this text along with a professor and a friend with whom to practice. It was and STILL is my Bible for pronunciations and spelling.
I bought this book here on eBay for my Navajo daughter who has no clue as to her ancestral language, its spelling or culture behind why words are used in situations. Although a book will never replace what living the language does, this is the best choice for your learning. But the best way to learn the language after you spell it and read it is to LIVE IT! I did it for many years and there is nothing like experiencing the living language to understand the dialects of the largest Native American peoples in the United States (their land has the same square footage as the state of West Virginia!)
