The Nativity Story (DVD, 2007)

I have been to the Holy Land, and when I saw this movie in the theater I felt like I was right back in Isreal. It was very athentically done. A lot of people would think that this movie wasn't dramatic enough if compared to movies today. But this is based on a true story, and if you were to put place yourself in Mary and Joseph's shoes, it would have been very difficult to live through if you are moral and a virgin until marriage. Only the belief and faith in God could bring you through such an ordeal, and at the same time the most blessed event in history. Today, God's chosen people still go through very trying times, but if God's children keep the faith and obey Him, they come out on the other side blessed and are a blessing to others.
I bought this movie to remind me every Christmas that the season is not about gifts, parties, Santa Clause, decorations....but it's all about the birth of Jesus. I plan to watch it every Christmas Eve with my family.

I first saw this movie in the theatre and fell in love with it.
It is a scriptural, honest portrayal of the Nativity and events
surrounding it through the eyes of those who participated and
were witnesses. The actors and actresses were all excellent, bringing to life
people from the Bible who , though well known traditionally, too often
seem only distant people. Through this movie, we see Mary and Joseph as
young people caught up in miraculous circumstances, their hopes, fears, and joy giving us new insight into that long ago time. Traditions and lifestyle were wonderfully depicted. It is possible the 3 Wise Men actually visited Jesus as "a young child" and not at the time of His birth, but their inclusion in the story also gives us new perspective on their role and certain humorous scenes lightened the story. I would rate this a definite must see.

Just a great movie that is suitable for everyone. Even though it is an old stroy that all of us know, it will give you a new prospective. We showed this to a group of people from young children to seniors and everyone got something out of it. A Christmas must see!

The best movie about one of the great Christian events that I have ever seen. It was done with a lot of care for biblical detail.

This is a beautiful movie about the life of Mary and Joseph in the months leading up to the birth of Jesus. I feel this is a very respectful rendition of the story of two very important Bible characters. You get to see how the people of the time lived and they don't have any major extra plots that they add to entertain us, they stick to what the Bible outlines only adding a little "muscle and flesh" to the bones. It is simply and wonderfully presented yet highly entertaining. I had to have a copy of this because I want my family to watch this every year so we can get into the true spirit of Christmas!

I enjoyed this movie it goes in depth of what mary and joseph when through during their time. A really good movie that is nice to watch.

I rented this DVD because I love to watch stories about the Savior and it was recommended by a friend. It did not disappoint us at all, we want to see more wholesome pictures from "hollywood" that is good for the heart and the soul. A great story and wonderfully depicted in video. I wanted to support the industry and movie company that produced the DVD because we want more like this. Thank you for putting out a quality story.

It was the best and most realistic Nativity story that I have ever seen. It seem to be more like things would have been over 2000 years ago. The only problem myself and family members had was that the accents were heavy and some lines were hard to understand. I plan to watch it again using the closed caption. It is appropriate for anyone over the age of 7-9 years.

Totally loved the movie. What a powerful depiction of the birth of Christ and the days leading up to His birth. This will be one of those movies that my wife and I will watch again and again.

I am not a religious person and I still loved this movie. Wonderful cast and story. I thought I would not be able to watch this one and it would be boring, but it kept my attention and I made it through the whole thing. Love it. Everyone must see.

Loved it. Brings the fact that Mary and Joseph were real human beings with real human struggles. Takes a lot of the "romance" out of the story and makes one realize how hard life was in those times. Good acting, scenery, costumes.

This is the exact story of Jesus birth. It is very well portrayed. I recommend it to every christian. Others will not understand the story. I bought it because my church had a few clips we used on different Sundays and I wanted to see the whole movie. It is a great movie. And accurate.

My seven year old daughter loves this movie. It is a great way for her to learn about history and religion. She watches it over and over again. I really enjoy the movie as well. It is well made and makes you feel like you are back in that time period. Wonderful for any movie cabinet.

I really enjoy this movie. I think that it brings a closer meaning of Christmas to us all. I think that it is a good Christian movie that can be shared during a special time. I think that it is very family oriented and something that can create great memories and meanings of the holiday. I bought this movie because I am tired of the garbage that is on t.v. I wanted something that my children could watch and get something positive out of.

I purchased this movie after having seen it in the theater. In my heart this story is what Christmas is, so I bought it for a few reasons. First because it is the reason I celebrate Christmas, second for a reminder, third for the Grandchildren to see and be aware of why Christmas is such a season of joy and hope for us.

Mary was a woman of strength, not a whimp. She was a woman who stood her ground after hearing from God. This movie certainly shows that, but also shows her willingness to learn.

The movie is a story that has stood over 2000 years of time, it is a classic and one worth buying and owning.

The movies was shot in Israel as close to Bethlehem as possible and so the scenery is amazing and real to the time of the actual event.

The characters are certainly believeable and the setting of the day was researched. The Romans rules the Israelites and the fear that they put in them was depicted very well.

A movies that is enjoyable, set perfectly in the place of origin and of the day.

The Nativity Story is about two people, Mary and Joseph, a miraculous pregnancy, and the history-defining birth of Jesus. This verson of the nativity story was the realist one i've seen and by fare the best. The dramatic and compelling film traces the perilous journey of a young couple who must travel from their home in Nazareth to Bethlehem, Joseph's ancestral home, to register for a census ordered by King Herod. It is a journey of over 100 miles, through treacherous terrain, made much more difficult by the fact that Mary is nine months pregnant. This movie is seen through the eyes of mary bringing her to the center piece of th movie.

I liked this movie, but did the Three wise Men have to be depicted as Moe, Larry and Curley? The acting is good. the photography is nice. For the most part ist's an accurate re-telling of the story.

I like a place that the Jesus baby was born. It's very beautiful panoramas, including the star. Very nice story for all the family. GOD always bless all of you.
