Nativity in Black: A Tribute to Black Sabbath by Various Artists (CD, Oct-1994, Columbia USA)

The cd is covers of black sabbath songs by different artists. I bought the cd because I had heard of few of the songs and liked them. I would say over half the songs were covered good, but some of the songs I didn't like the way they covered them. Overall not too bad, but some I just skip past when I'm playing the cd.

I have bought this cd several times. Every once in a while you lose or scrath a disc. This cd kicks ass, lets face it anything with MEGADETH on it rocks! Also some good work from Sepultura, and Ugly Kid Joe. Faith No More's take on Black Sabbath also a treat. This is a must have for any true metal fan. Put it this way, if your some wuss that went out right away to buy any of the last 4 Metallica cd's then "Nativity in Black" is NOT for you.

Well, you've got to love an album to buy it twice, and that´s what I've done with this one. Bought originally in cassette in the mid 90´s and bought again in 2008 on cd format.

What we find here is the metal leaders of the 90's showing their respect for the godfathers of heavy metal, and if you love any of the bands involved in this project you should buy it.

Well produced, with some of the best covers of classic Black Sabbath that you will find. Has great tracks with guest vocals you won't hear elseware. Having a lifetime of sabbath soundtracks to judge from I was not dissapointed with this tribute.

It is rare that other artist can preform a song as good or sometimes better than the original artist. There are a few that actually achieved this on this CD

When you get bands to do covers its a love/hate deal but....this ones just okay. The end result was a mess N.I.B. II was much better But Type O Negative made "Black Sabbath" a much darker song bordering on creepy.
