The Native Americans by David Hurst Thomas, Jay Miller, Richard White (1993, Hardcover)

This is a book designed for high school-college history courses with good illustrations. The writing style is more on the lower level, but it is informative and a useful text for writing term papers. I have used other texts of a more encyclopedic nature which are also helpful. This is more prose-like. Don't expect higher level to graduate writing from this text, but it is a good beginning for those interested in American Indians.
