National Treasure (DVD, 2005, Widescreen)

This is truly an outstanding movie. Once you start it you won't want to stop it. This movie incorporates many historical riddles and is filled with a lot of action. Benjamin Gates (Nicolas Cage) is looking for a treasure using a clue passed down his family from generation to generation. He solves the first clue which leads him to steel the most important document in American history: the Declaration of Independence. Want to make the plot even more suspensful. one of his former buddies, has gone against him and he too wants to steel the Declaration and find the treausure. Who will steel the Declaration? What will happen to it? And is there even a treasure at all? This movie is one of the most suspenseful movies ever and I highly recommend it.

This movie is excellent. Finally something with suspense and realistic adventure. This is like a modern day indian jones movie. Nicholas Cage is excellent. From the movie title, I thought it was going to be a corny movie but it turned out to be really great. Nicholas cage is living his grandfathers dream of finding this treasure. He risks his life, his freedom to find this treasure. the clues are suspensful. You'll be suprised where he ends up!!! I can't give it away. but if you enjoyed reading the divinci code- you'll love this movie. worth keeping. I would recommend buying it.

Not Really Into Nicholas Cage But.... this was a darn good action flick!!

The story is good, the plot moves along nicely, and for an action flick it isn't overly violent!

And Nicholas Cage is good in this movie!

I actually bought this for a Christmas present for my cousin, but have seen it before and loved it. It's a great adventure film, and I really enjoyed the "mystery" part of it - it gets the audience involved in trying to figure things out. Also, it was really fun to see all the historical places/things in the movie since I've been to all those landmarks before.

Who ever thought up of the storyline for this movie is amazing. The envolvement with the world around us, and the fact that you can go to the set of the movie all the time, is what makes this movie a classic. Nicolas Cage does a great acting job.

Everyone likes a good movie about hidden treasures, puzzles etc...

I like it even more when my whole family can watch it. Although the plotline has very little truth in it their is enough historical references to make my children want to leanr about history as well.

Could the key to finding a treasure have been hidden for centuries on the back of the most famous document in the history of the United States of America? Would not it have been found by now? National Treasure incorprates some real history facts into clues that lead to the place where the founders of the United States hid the treasure, but is it still there? This action packed treasure hunt includes great footage that takes you to settings in Washington, D.C., the Arctic, Philadelphia, New York, and more. Although the movie is mostly fiction, I have found it to be useful in teaching how to determine the facts within fiction. Great fun part of an American Revolution curriculum. I used it in summer schooling a junior high boy and it really helped engage him in the subject of early American history.

I started out absolutely hating this film. I was annoyed how easliy Nick Cage seemed to decode messages, and all this other nonsense. But after about a half hour, I was into it, and it was good fun for the whole family, and Jon Voight delivers a great little performance. I had a good time in the end.

like the history background you learn many things about our nation things that are not taught in school anymore

I purchased this movie because I enjoy Nicholas Cage. I love mysteries. I would recommand it to everyone. It made wonder if there really were a National Treasure.

this is a great movie. there is nothing to dislike. if you like treasure hunting and history this is the movie to get. i loved this movie because i always wanted to go on a treasure hunt like that. if you haven't already seen the movie, this is a must see and get movie. jerry bruckheimer is great at what he does. who wouldn't want to go on a hunt like that.

Funny, intelligent and crammed with action.... a great movie that you want to see again and again! Highly recommended.

This is not only a good movie, but a great history lesson as well. It is also a very clean movie. No cursing throughout the entire movie. Unheard of. Highly recommend this movie.

The Social Science Department has shown this movie in school and it was very interesting. After watching it, It have decided to purchase it. Since I was unable to find it at Columbia House I looked for it on e-bay. Everything is always available on e-bay. It is also a great movie.

I bought National Treasure for a Christmas present. I tried finding it at the local stores, but they were sold out. I was glad I was able to find it online. The shipping was very fast and I got it in time for Christmas. Very happy with the seller and my over all experience.

This is one wonderfully put together movie. The history part of it made it even more interesting. The characters were perfect, too. Anything that stars Nicolas Cage and Jon Voight has to be great! Highly recommend this movie.
