Album Notes Photographer: Russ Harrington. Southern gospel giant Bill Gaither developed a music empire by gathering a family of artists under the Gaither banner, creating a best-selling brand which assured fans that when they bought Gaither, they were buying high-quality churchin' music in a wide variety of styles with an infallibly positive message. With NASHVILLE HOMECOMING, Gaither brings the show to the famed Grand Ole Opry. Not surprisingly, a few country and bluegrass music artists are included in the proceedings, including superstars the Gatlin Brothers and the Oak Ridge Boys, as well as lesser-known Gaither regulars the Isaacs. Highlights include a heart-achingly soulful take on "I Just Came to Talk With You Lord" by the late, great gospel songwriting legend Dottie Rambo, and the Gatlins' old-time harmonizing on "In the Upper Room." Throughout, the mood is joyful and celebratory, with a down home feel accentuated by mandolins, fiddles, and tinkling Floyd Cramer-style piano. | See an error?
