Napoleon: From Tilsit to Waterloo 1807-1815 by Lefebure
Review created: 05/21/06

All serious students of the Napoleonic era own this two volume set and wouldn't be caught without it. By Georges Lefebure, it was translated by Anderson to the great benefit of English readers and scholars.

Long considered a classic study of the Napoleonic era, this two-volume set presents the history of a time that was dominated by Napoleon Bonapart. The author looks at the intricate political and intellectual trends of the age, focusing on economic and social developments as well as individuals who shaped the course of events. In particular, he examines the collective life of the French people.

Not recommended for the casual or light history reader.
