Nanny McPhee (DVD, 2006, Widescreen)

This is a warm hearted, funny, entertaining movie that the whole family will adore and watch time and time again.
Nanny McPhee was the idea of actress Emma Thompson - who plays the aforementioned title character. With a run time of 99 minutes and a cast of notable Actors including Colin Firth and Kelly MacDonald; this movie is pure magic and make believe with a message for us all!
Firth plays a widower with a large family of rather unruly children, who, on account of their antics, have gone through every nanny in town to the point where nobody is willing to take on this family! He is alse in danger of having his family break apart after his elderly and rather rich aunt refuses to support him much longer unless he finds a bride!
Enter the rather curious looking Nanny McPhee, who helps things change and inflicts a brand of discipline on our crazy siblings to good effect, albeit with some rather strange goings on!! We also see our widower find a new bride to be, a rather unlikable character; made all the more unpleasant when we see that it is quite obvious that our widowers love is on his own doorstep!
This movie teaches us not to judge a book by its cover; and also presents an interesting look at childhood and the manners we need to have that have never gone away!!
This is very well acted, well directed, with stunning visuals; a wonderful feel good movie for all the family with its share of laugh out loud moments as well as sentimental warmth! Highly Recommended!

My kids loved it in the theater and they wanted to watch it again and again....:) so I had to have it. We loved everything about it, the story line the characters. It was very funny, not scary at all....wonderful for kids and it also teaches a lot of good things, good manners, helping and understanding each-other, lots and lots of good teachings. It was a great family movie all-in-all!!
