Good game, but did not meet my expectations....

Let me first say that I have bought NCAA Football every year since 1998. After playing last year's version for about 40 hours a week, 3 months straight (I wish I was joking) I had huge expectations for 07 to break on the 360. What I got was a watered-down version of the 2006 game for the Xbox.

Pros - Stadiums look great, WOW. They really do come to life when breaking a big play, or gaining momentum at home (which is what all of us have been waiting for right?). The helmets and reflections off of them are amazing, simply amazing. The gameplay plays much like the 06 version, hit stick, juke moves using the analog, which are nice but I would have liked to see a little more creativity with this year's version.

Cons - Well, I could go on for awhile but I will say that this game did not meet my expectations. Let me mention a couple problems I had with the game...

1) NO team entrances - I know it isn't that big of a deal, but with the game breaking on the new gen, I would have loved to see the teams rush out on to the field with the crowd going crazy (I loved that part for the Xbox, really got me pumped about the game I was about to play).

2) Gameplay seems forced - not as fluid as the Xbox version, don't like the new controls (good thing you can change them back).

3) Faces - While the graphics are great, ALL quarterbacks look the exact same. I played a game MSU vs. ND and Drew Stanton and Brady Quinn looked EXACTLY alike, just different jerseys. Match this with the same cutscenes over and over and it gets old.....fast.

4) Rain and Snow....look HORRIBLE. I played a game at the Big House with Snow and it looked like static on my TV. Would have loved to see the field accumulate snow and have footprints all over it like it should. Heck, the sidelines during games with snow are completely dry. An error that should have been caught in the prescreening.

Overall it is still a fun game to play, but lacks the appeal as games in the past. Look for EA to correct this in the upcoming version of the game, but I have to say I was a little disapointed with the outcome. Fun game, but I will alawys be wondering how good it really could have been...

NCAA 07 - A nice hangover until Madden 2007 comes out

NCAA football finally makes its debut on the 360. Using a modified XBOX 360 Madden 2006 engine, this game makes a nice first attempt at a college football game. The player graphics and the physics look great, especially in between plays and cut scenes. You will be in awe when you see the lighting off the player’s helmets, even more so if you have a high definition TV.

The gameplay has been improved from the style of Madden 2006, giving a more realistic feel to the game. The commentary is good, and does not make you want to throw your controller through a wall when there is a dumb comment. This may be an improvement, but there are some issues though in the games tendency to “skip” with frames jumping or a play being executed choppy. This is even more apparent when playing online. This makes it very difficult to play defense because you always feel a step behind.

The extra features that were not included in this version that are on the original XBOX system are disheartening. The features in the XBOX 360 version would be comparable to an NCAA release back in 2001, when comparing the features. I would love to have the “create a college” feature over tug-of-war any day. Plus, not all the real stadiums are in this game, which is upsetting when my Alma matter's stadium is absent.

I must say that the achievements make any XBOX 360 user want to play the game more, and this is no exception. I think EA is realizing that they have made their previous games a bit too easy in their achievement goals.

Final word – if you only have an XBOX 360, this is a great game to hold you over until Madden 2007 comes out, though if you have an original XBOX, this game might be better played on the old system due to the massive extras and smoothness of the gameplay.

The game officially comes out this week, but if you are an Xbox Live user, why wait? The Free Demo is out now on the Xbox Live Marketplace, and features Florida State at Florida. The game allows you to play 1 minute quarters.

I thought this was a huge improvement over Madden 06 (360 version), and if you have been waiting for a real football game for the 360, then I suggest trying the game, and judging it yourself.

After playing the game, I think the game is very enjoyable, and with the 50 achievements, it will give an extra challenge for most players. The graphics look great on a HDTV, but look like normal graphics on a regular TV. I think they did a very good job improving the football engine for the 360, since Madden was a huge dissapointment. If you are a college football fan, you will enjoy this game.

  FOOTBALL AT ITS BEST!

Personaly I never put NCAA game in high graces before but this game was a plesent and enjoyable experiance. Gameplay is fun and should last a fan of football many long nights of staying up till dawn. graphics are great and full of little special effects and cutsceans of players and crowds. the stadiums are by far the strongest point of the grapics section as they are more life like then ever. if one was to look back from a far at the stadiums they would have trouble figuring out that it is fake. sound was great with the inclusion of bands. along with the crazy crowds made it really seem like a collage football experiance. now all they need is cheerleaders. Oh yea got to have those cheerleaders. may be next year. as far as overall value of the game the dynasty mode will keep you playing for hours on end along with the achevments. still trying for the 60 year. only like 3% there though. if you get board of that theres always online. yes online. what you think i forgot. well its good and all like any other online sports game. ESPN comes to use with the ticker on the bottom which gives you not only dynasty info but if you want real world info provided you have XboX live. so thats my review and i hope it convinces someone out there to get this game.

NCAA Football 07 **Best Football Game for 360 YET**
Review created: 05/14/07
4 of 5 people found this review helpful.

Finally, college football on the 360! EA Sports does a great job of making it feel like a college game with the new stadiums, fans, and lifelike looking players. This game is not a letdown. EA Sports first time college football game scores a touchdown!

GRAPHICS: 9/10
The graphics in this game are insane. The players look so real and they look so real the way they move. The stadiums are done very good. There are about 70 stadiums that are made after the real stadium. The fans are a new feature this year. The fans look good but look choppy sometimes when the camera flies through them. Overall amazing graphics.

SOUND: 9/10
Brad Nessler, Kirk Hirbstreit, and Lee Corso are back for NCAA 07. The commentary is very good called the entire game. Sometimes repeative, but there is so many new sayings and other things which make the commentary score big.

GAMEPLAY: 9/10
The gameplay is great in the game. This year there is the new momentum system. When you get a big play like a touchdown or interception you get bars go up on your side. When you get more momentum your team will get a boost on the field. In instant replay you can take pictures of big plays that happen in your game. The dynasty mode in the game is awesome. You can play so many years and can do things like in season recruiting. The maps are in 3D which make the experience even better. The controls to the game are just a little different but not hard to learn. The new kicking meter is ok but not something im still used to. Calling plays is easier than ever with so many new formations and playbooks. The screen is easy to picks plays because you can pick a play by a formation, ask corso, or use an impact player or key player. On the running game now you can use the R stick to juke left or right like in 06 but you can go up or down to truck a player. The gameplay is great and really keeps you playing.

  Better than last year
Review created: 07/22/06
3 of 4 people found this review helpful.

This game is better than last year's version. New mini modes such as tug a war, option dash, and bowling add some spice to this game. The dynasty mode is more in depth, for the hard core gamers.

The gameplay is similar to years past, but it gives you more control on the field to change on the fly. The online play is still lacking, but I believe that is more due to EA than to this particular game.

I would try this on Xbox Live before you buy it. If you liked last year's game, you should love this version!

This game is so realistic. There are 50 achievenets in the game, so it will keep you busy for awhile. There are awesome mini games such as "Bowling" where you get 2 chances to score while at the 10 yard line, and each yard you get is a point. The tackles are alot more realistic than any other football game out there, and you actually have a shot of blocking kicks. YOU CAN EVER GET THE REAL LIFE ESPN SPORTS TICKER ON YOUR GAME!!! Did I mention the momentum meter??? WOW!!!! FOR SURE BUY THIS GAME!!!!!!!!!

  Where's the game play?
Review created: 07/05/07
2 of 2 people found this review helpful.

The graphics are aewsome and the sound is realistic, but it's missing all the gameplay that is on the XBOX and Playstation 2. The XBOX 360 game does not contain any of the new features such as Race for the Heisman and Campus Legend. It also does not have some of the old features as hot routes, Drills, and Create-a-player. The menus are hard to navigate through and are confusing. During gameplay, it's hard to see where you are throwing the ball and spriting doesn't work very well. There is no sight of a coach, mascot, or fans in this game. The graphics primary focus is on the players and the stadium. If you are willing to fork out $60 for a basic football game, then the XBOX 360 NCAA Football 2007 is your game.

  NOT THAT FUN!!!

I want to start off by saying I have owned every copy of this game dating back to 2001! I have to say that the football on XBOX 360 including Madden have been disappointing! I believe that they can do so much more with this title than they have. I bought this game on the release day and had sold it on ebay by the following week. I strongly recommend renting it before committing to a purchase. I found there to be a lack of options in game play and actually missed the instant replay feature. Furthermore, I found load times were little long and did not like what they have done with the create a player. You can't just supe them up! Its your game you should have control if you want an all 99 rated player!!!! Hopefully Madden and NCAA will get it right next year!!!

NCAA 07 is improved dramatically on the xbox 360. I only have the demo which me and my friend have been playing for a few days now. This game is a must have for any football fans. C

CONS I disliked that it can look like the framework is misplaced sometimes in the audience. NO BIGDEAL. I havent bought it yet. Need to rack up another 60
=(.

I bought the game the day it came out, and it is fun! Lots of cool extras, ESPN ticket, new mini-games, and the momentum meter. During the first few online matchups, the game was a little jumpy....but I think I can safely say that was it a connection problem, as recent ones have been smooth. Buy this game, you'll enjoy it!

NCAA Football 07 is for achievement hunters only
Review created: 07/27/09
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

I bought this game for the achievements and to easily import a draft class into my Madden 07 game (also for an achievement).

This game gave me problems when trying to unlock achievements in that I would often meet the requirements but it wouldn't unlock right away. Once it even unlocked during my next game when I did NOT meet the requirements.

And completing 60 years of dynasty is a ridiculous achievement and only obtained by the hardcore achievement hunters.

Gameplay is average, there are better current options available for only a little more money. I recommend either 08 or 09 over this one if you aren't going for achievements.

This game is great for the money I got it for, you can't beat the price! This game in my opinion has better controls than the new ones, (08 and 09) Smooth graphics and the gameplay is too cool. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who enjoys sports or just wants a good sports game.

Review created: 10/28/07

This is a decent game. There are pros and cons just as any games. Lets go with the pros it is a fun game, the first NCAA football game on Xbox 360. There are also more pros. Some of the cons, the quarterbacks all look the same, and also they make the kickers look "large" and most NCAA kickers are not all that big. But this is still a pretty good game and now the prices you can find them at this is a good game for people who want a decent football game at a good price.

Verdict/ Buy the prices are low on this game!!
