NBA 2K8 (Xbox 360, 2007)

NBA LIVE 08 has great graphics and is actually a fun game to play. Unfortunatelty, thats about it. Yes it's improved dramatically this year;
LIVE 08 is smooth, glitches have been fixed, and game play is less arcade and more simulated.
HOWEVER, NBA 2K8 is as realistc as you can get to the real thing. if you want to play real basketball, go with NBA 2K8.
but if you want something for the kids, get LIVE 08.

Somehow 2k8 seemed o improve from its last installment 2k7. Graphics are more crisp and smooth, the crown is louder than ever, and so realistic.

I have both NBA live 08 and NBA 2k8. By far NBA 2k8 is better. It has all new mechanics so where every player reflects every move of its realife counter part. That Kobe Bryant fade away, they got it, that Lebron dunk they got it. From the no shows to the playmakers they all use the same movement as the players in the NBA.
One of the great things about this game is that you feel like you are actually watching a real basketball game, the announcers are great, they are the real ones from the TV broadcasts. The breaks are great, the replays are also pretty good, and the halftime show and post game states are pretty neat.

The graphics arnt the best in the world but they still look real. The gameplay is smooth, no jumps or freezes. The new A.I. makes it so where there are no 100 to 60 point games, the defense plays physical and hard.

Another great thing is the dunk contes, being able to jump over cars is cool, the three point shootout and more add more things to the game. Getting tired of playing regular games, play a game of 21 on the blacktop.

I recommend you get this game soon, before you get live

This is a great basketball simualtion game, the best one that I have played so far. I highly recommend this game to people who like basketball, because it is very realistic.

Another entry into the NBA series, and with better graphics and tweaked gameplay its deffinately worth a look. However, you should remember that this game, along with the likes or Fifa, Madden etc.. its a game made for sports fans, and if you dont fall into this catagory it will get boring very quickly,

though great replay and multiplay options, which is always good on the 360

Gameplay and graphics are improved over 2k7 and now that this game is so cheap its a great deal. I have alot of fun playing this game alone or with friends. The character models looks much more lifelike than in 2k7 but some player still look weird. The control is simple enough for new players or deep enough if you want to learn more advanced moves. They got rid of the "story mode" called 24/7 and its fine with me. They added in blacktop mode that is a series of events like slam dunk contest (it takes some practice to learn), 3pt shoot out, 3 on 3, 4 on 4 street ball type games ect. another great thing is that under My NBA option you can adjust the sliders in the game to make it play the way you want it too. This is not as good as NBA 2k10, just out as of this review, but its not $60 either. anyone looking for a solid and fun NBA game but wanting too save some $$$ NBA 2k8 is the answer.

It's a fun game. Because I played 2k7 an I liked it.And if theirs a 2k10 I wont that one to. An I think if the people of EBAY keep selling like this EBAY will be a wonderful place to shop online.

Vast improvement from the Atari basketball game i had in the 80s. The ease of passing the ball to different players, how they look on the screen, and the way the game resembles reality makes the game something i'll probably keep, if i don't get a newer version later. I bought it because i do not have any basketball video games for my 360 and i didn't want to spend the money on a new one.

2k8 i believe 2k8 is better than the NBA live... because its more realistic from the players on the bench being silly and cheering for their teammates on the floor to the crowds & mascots & cheerleaders... even the freethrow shot of every player is identical to the shot of the real deal... lol my english is so funny...i'm so drunk @_@...but yeah its hella good si i recommend this game.. go xbox 360!!!

I own both NBA Live 09 and 2k9. originally I purchased 2k9 and disliked it so I sold it and bought Live. I believe Live's update feature's are better and the games playability is a little better but 2k9 is much better of a simulation of the real thing. 2k9 also affords the ability to play the playoffs which I did not realize live does not. Live does not even have a playoff option. If you want simulation play with playoff option, go with 2k9. If you want arcade type play with better updating, go with live.

I've been playing 2k9 for some time now but I decided to try 2k8 again. (on xBox). After getting used to 2k9, 2k8 seems to lack a few thing, but overall court graphics and gameplay are still the best ever with 2k8. 2k9 fell far behind with court graphics and gameplay with player running completely out of control. Can wait for 2k10. Im not buying tho. Im renting and then buying used because this year I fealt like I was cheated out of my money, So I won't give them a chance to get it back.

I love this game, because its not like live, you can trade and make yourself and allstar team to play a season with...i had Amare Stoudemaire for my center, dwight howard as power forward, lebron james as small forward, dwayne wade as shooting guard, and chris paul at the point guard...

From the moment I started playing this game, it felt like I was actually watching a live game. From the accurate ball movement, to the amazing graphics, this game has it all. One thing that I was not too fond of was the easiness of late quarter comebacks (I'd have a 25 point lead in the fourth quarter, and then the opposing team could come back from that with NO PROBLEM). Other than that, this game is great. Excellent graphics too. It's definitely worth the cash. Beats NBA Live on ANY DAY!

Good graphics and gameplay. Just can't figure out the dunking. I am am parent of 3 so between work and life in general I don't know if I'll master this game like I'd want to.

Graphics and Gameplay is amazing. I decided to buy it because it's just RAW! It's a MUST BUY! It's so fun to play with your friends and your family. there's a lot of new features, including the blacktop where you take it to the streets and just show everyone what's in you. IT truly is one of the best basketball games I ever played to date.

SO I bought this game because Basketball's my favorite sport and now im sick of all those shooting games so i thought id go to ebay and look for a nba game and i found one and got this at an amazing price which is amazing. I eject the disc tray and put nba 2k8 in and im happy thats all i play now. It's really a great game i really do like it it's a whole lot of fun. But kinda hard but its awesome though you can make your own players and teams. You can go online and go against people. Theres a whole lot more to this game than shooting hoops.

Its graphics are similiar to 09 and its quarter the price! why not?? There will be nba 2K10 in a couple months anyways
