NASCAR 06: Total Team Control (Xbox)

Every year the people at EA Sports find a way to keep on adding to the NASCAR series to make it better. Last years version by far had the greatest improvements in the series and kept me interested for the entire year. This year EA took basically the same game and went about three steps farther. They offered more streamlined graphics(especially on the tracks), put you wth an actual race team and thrown in voice commands.

The graphics have been improving every year that I can remember. Granted it making cars is not as hard I would guess as making actual people move, but there is still some more improvement. This year the tracks seen the biggest improvement. You can actually see the improved detail in the trees that line the track and the vehicle damage has also somewhat improved.

I really like the idea of the race teams. You can no longer think about yourself and do well in the game. You have to help your teammate who will in turn help you out when your are in need. I still haven't quite gotten the hang of working with the team but it forces me to keep thinking about strategy instead of just making sure you get to the inside of the corners.

The coolest feature added is voice commands. This feature really puts you inside the car. There could be a few improvements in this area though. It seems like I have to repeat myself some and if the crew chief is talking you may as well for get sending a command. As luck would have it when the the crew chief is talking is when I need to talk to my team mates the most, but it is still done fairly well. This goes along with working with a team that I haven't completely gotten a handle on yet.

Finally EA added back the inside the car camera view. This was sorely missed last year and believe me there was so many people who complained about this missing feature.

Over all this game has come along way from beating and banging your way to the front of the pack. I now requires finesse, patience, and teamwork to become a champion.

So your a Nascar FAN just like me 'eh? Well then you are going to LOVE this game!! EA Sports truly came through with something perfect this time. I have had this game for about 2 months now and I play it all the time. Especially after watching a Nascar race. Nascar 06 Total Team Control is all about you and your team mates. Say your Michael Waltrip and you all of a sudden crash out of turn 4. Well EA Sports now allows you to switch cars, like switching from Michael Waltrip to Dale Jr. or from Dale Jr's to Martin Truex Jr. As long as they are your team mate you can help them win. When in The Chase for the Cup mode you start off in Whelan Modified cars and when you show that you are a great driver (winning races or placing in the top 10) then they offer you a chance to prove yourself and get into Craftsman Truck series...and so-so all the way up to Nascar. You do get to create your own car and get your own sponsors...which makes the game a lot better. Another thing that is great is the action stick which can let you tell your teammate to get out of the way or block traffic coming after you. The graphics are great, a little better than 05, the replay value is a 10 out of 10. And the online expierence is quite fun. All in all if you like Nascar get this game, you won't regret this. its a okay game if you like racing . i wanted a racing game, the game it's very easy to play and pass sometimes .but the game its all good i give it a 3 rating1/2

I purchase this game for my Grandson, he said the game is great.We watch Nascar every week he said the graphic are great.the game is perfect.

The best NASCAR game around! While not perfect it is very fun. The career mode goes on forever. Cannot wait until 07 comes out, hopefully they will add even more tracks and options!

I purchased a game from the seller on the 23rd of June, received an e-mail stating that it would be shipped on the 27th. Its now the 16th of July and no reply to 2 e-mails i have sent him or no game. DO NOT waste your time bidding on his items .. you pay him and get no items!!!!

If you miss the 2 player split screen and 2 player seasons then this is the latest nascar game available that still has this! Main reason I got it so I could do so when I go camping at the races! Hopefully nascar 2010 MIGHT be smart and bring it back!

I bought this since it is now supported by XBox360 according to the website. However, the game plays in extrememly low resolution.

I have many xbox games running fine on my 360 once they are supported by XBOX.

Great game, good challenges and teaches you a lot about racing. I'm looking forward to getting the next NASCAR game and even thinking of upgrading the Xbox360 to get the newest game.

Great Game that we got our son for his birthday.. makes you feel as if you are there ever week! A must for every NASCAR fan although it takes a while to get used to the steering and handling - just like the real thing!

this game was for my husbands xbox,,and he loves it,,great game for the price,,would buy again..he loves the action,,the driving,,better than the other nascar games he has bought,,,,

The game is great for any NASCAR fan that has an xbox 360 and can't wait until 08 to get a real racing game.

This game is the best of the nascar games for xbox. It allows total team control and is easier to drive the cars than Nascar Thunder.

ea sports is a publically traded company. this means their sole obligation is to the share holder not the consumer. case in point: they purchased the exclusive nascar license, make the same game every year and dont make any changes in the right direction. total team control means you can pick up the other car in your team and race it for them while your car you were just in goes backwards in the field. a very unrealistic concept on all fronts. to be totally honest i would score the game higher i am trying so hard to bring down the rediculous high average score with mine. now, ea sports has no nascar and nfl competition so that means fire half their work force and release the same game every year with updated roster and some gimmicky concept like total team control. if you ask me nascar racing on the psone is the most reallistic driving experience you'll find on a console. they made you responsible for driving the car under yellow and keep your car at the speed limits in the pits. the best nascar game to date and not made by ea sports. oh did i mention its over 10 years old and outdated. but it was on a whole different level!

I bought this because i love nascar and wanted to play against a friend. This was the almost newest game out and it was cheaper than the newest so i bought it.

this game was just what i expected, thanks for a good product. It played well, the disc was in new condition, as stated when purchased.

This is a ok game could be better but is good for the nascar fa who needs it on a xbox but nascar pc games are better

For those of you that haven't experienced gaming at its best, there's only one thing you need to know about this particular game... EA Sports... "If it's in the game, it's in the game." Need I say more?

I bought an xbox game (nascar 2006) for my son for a Christmas gift. I had my older son try the game out to make sure it worked and he said it was great! I am pleased with the product thus far,hopefully my younger son will be as well once Christmas gets here!
