History that's easy and exciting to read

I love that this book approaches history from an everyday life point of view versus the usual tracking of one war to the next. It is just what I've been looking for, having long been interested in the Middle Ages, but never finding easy to read stories about the people and how they lived. I learned a great deal, and am now looking forward to picking up more of T. Cahill's books.
