Myst: Masterpiece Edition (PC Games, 1999)

I believe Myst was one of the greatest games in history. In the age of XP I miss the game often. It was far ahead of it's time back in basic windows. I was hopeful when I saw the Myst game was remastered for modern versions of windows. I immediately ordered it. When it arrived I tried to install it, with nothing but the sound of wind and water, and a black screen. I tried to look for a patch online but found none for XP. I really can't blame the sellers, although I received only the disk in a paper sleeve. The box may say windows XP compatible, but there is no way of knowing that. The bottom line is if you have XP don't buy this game until they issue a patch, or someone finds a way to get it to work by tweeking windows in some way. Save your money!!!!!!

I had always liked Myst, but that was years ago. Coming across the game for the latest VISTA OS was a nice surprise. I got it and enjoy reliving the adventure, especially having forgotten many of the tricks, so it is almost new again. The only negative is that most modern games are rapid and lifelike, so if you are not used to the slower paced games from over a decade ago, Myst may not be for you. If you like a puzzle, you may really like this classic.

As advertised. Good to play a game from my youth and share the pleasures of my childhood computer game with my 11 year old son.

I am running XP and did not have a problem. I just had to remove Quicktime (which i do not use anyway). Myst has worked so far after a day of use!

I could never get this game to work on my PC, I tried several things the seller sugested but still it would not work on my PC.

This doesn't seem to work on Vista. My seller thinks it may be my GForce 8500GT graphics card. He seems knowledgable, I'm not.

haven't gotten around to playing this game again... but I played it in high school (12 years ago) and still talk about it today. I'm really hoping to find myself as trapped into it again as I was then... then I'm on to Riven. The puzzles in this game are so imaginative that you'll forget what day it is.

It's different from my other games so I haven't really gotten into it. Can't seem to figure it out yet. Don't play these kind too often. I will of course keep trying. It was a good buy and wanted to try something new out.

I wanted to buy it because its a fun puzzle game thats great. What else can I really say about myst other than its hard and fun. ;D

I liked an earlier version of this game so I bought this updated one for a newer computer. I was not dissapointed.

This game is not compatible with windows vista. It crashed my system, both of my daughters systems, and my neice couldn't even get it to load in her computer, which is NOT vista. So all over, nobody in our family enjoyed it at all. Not to say that it's a bad game ... it looked good from the description.

I could not get it to work. It stopped just past the beginning. I was looking forward to playing it after it was recommended by a friend.

So far the game doesn't like to work with 2 of my computers since they are less than 2 years old. However, my laptop which is 5 years old, it works well. So far the game has basic controls but is very interesting. I bought it because I played it when I was younger and wanted to finish it.

I bought a pc video game, I loved the price (it was cheap) and the shipping charges were reasonable. The only problem I encountered was that it really didn't work too well with Windows Vista, you could play the game but couldn't save any of your progress, which is essential to the game to continue, but oh well, I didn't spend much so I didn't lose much. I really can't blame the game, I blame Windows Vista. So if you are going to buy a pc game and have Vista be warned!
