A nice book that could have been SO much nicer!

I first visited the Grand Strand nearly 40 years ago, when I was just a baby. I continued to get to go once each summer for the next 15 years; I then missed about 14 years; and have been going back down to Myrtle Beach for summer vacations once or twice a year for the past 10 years. Great fun and great memories!
I accidentally happened across this title shortly after returning from this year's trip to the beach, and was interested to purchase and look at the postcard photographs. I was certainly a bit disappointed!
At only 128 pages for a suggested retail price of $19.99, I was expecting that there would be at least some color photos... ALL are black-and-white. I also expected that they would be full-sized renditions of the postcards, but the photos nearly all measure only about 5.25 inches long by 3.25 inches wide.
As you might imagine, with the small sizes and being only in black-and-white, a great deal of the detail of each is lost to the viewer. My nostalgia for the beach certainly includes memories of---- and a desire to see reflected in postcards from the beach---- a lot of color: light blue skies, darker blue/green ocean, tanned people on beige sandy beaches, wonderful and multi-colored neon signs from the attractions, and so on.
Not to be had in this book!
What a great premise; sadly, I feel it is quite a poor execution.
I cannot recommed this title.
