My So-Called Life - The Complete Series (DVD, 2002, 5 Disc Box Set)

Without going into all kinds of detail, this series was awesome.
It's High School friend who come from very different backgrounds, and their living situations basically cover pretty much of what actually does go on in real life.
Although this is just series, message of this family based series is all about being accepted.
Dispite the times, being in the 90's, it's really what life is about no matter what era / generation one is born in.
We all want to be accepted and loved.
This is a very touching story of how friends stick together, and remind each other that theya re never alone.

I cried through much of it as I could REALLY FEEL the characters lonelyness, especially Rickie, and Jordan Catalano.
These two are pretty much loners, but Rickie really needs to know that he does fit in dispite his differences and the fact that he is gay.
He has so much love to give, and thanfully for him, he realizes that he can turn to his friends.
Jordan plays with the notion that any girl is lucky to have him.
He is well respectful in so many ways, and finally realizes that he is smart and is worth being loved in return.

Great Box set and suggest that any teen see this series.
It may turn a few heads. I know it did mine and I'm in my 40's.
An excellent choice and it's very heartfelf and touching.
I highly recommend "MY SO CALLED LIFE" to any age group.
I think it will help kids to understand what a parent's role really means in their lives, and also their friends.
It's all about being loved and accepted. Very important concepts in life that we cannot live without.

I decided to buy this item because I love the show and never see reruns but it is sad to say that I am having trouble with the man I bought it from. He has not sent it to me and I bought it almost a month ago. So thats why my rating is poor.

Though I'm still upset that this wonderful series was cancelled before it really got going, the DVD set reminded me why I loved this show so much when I was 12. The show showed allowed its characters to go through real situations; ones that all teenagers and even adults go through. It was real, often brutally honest, and I loved every minute of it. Any fan of the show or any potential fan who would love to see a show that depicts growing up as close to what it's really like as possible should definitely get their hands on this DVD set.

I was so disappointed when this television show was taken off the air. It was a quality show. I taped the last few shows as soon as I realized it would end. When I received my copy of the series, I couldn't wait to watch it. I realize again how sad I am when quality shows don't make the cut. Another real advantage to owning it is that I don't need to fast forward though commercials.

Love CLaire Danes, love the wittiness of the show, shameful that they pulled the plug on it to early. My 17 yr old daughter is getting the collection for Christmas and it was at her request. She was an infant when this show came out and it crosses generations...she loves it!

The series was by far one of the most excellent childhood tv shows that I remember. The series went off of the air way too soon. Wish it was still on because I would watch it now!!!

This was very interesting for me to watch fifteen years after I originally saw it. In 1994, I realated with the teenagers, and enjoyed seeing their angst as I was going through mine. Now as I watched it, I found myself relating to the parents.I wish I would have taken notes as a teen for I have one very important question. Why did Angela choose her new friends? As mentioned before as a teen I totally got it. Now, sadly I do not. If I did understand that a lot of my angst as a mother of a burgeoning teen would be answered.All these points aside My-So-Called-Life is a fantastic right on story of teeneagers, theri families, and what it is like to grow up. The actors are fantastic.The writing is incredible. I do wish there would have been more seasons. But the one season does stand alone as a great story. Most plots are tied up and you feel satisfied with the season as a whole.Anyone who enjoyed this show in the early nineties will strill enjoy it today. It deals with the timeless issue of growing up wether you are fifteen or forty.

Really is a great show for any age. Address's all the issues teens have and is a blast from the past. Each Episode eases into the next without any confusion. You can watch them in order, or one at a time and they still rock. Great Set!!

One of the most intelligent and honest series about adolescents I have ever seen. The stories were told with sensitivity but without whitewashing the problems teens face. I highly recommend this.

I loved this show when I was in high school. The main charater reminds me of myself! The show is awesome. Dissapoined that one of the discs is cracked. Knew that when I bought it though

Claire Danes is my favorite actress. I've been trying to get this series for a long time. This was the first time the product seemed legitimate and reasonably priced. I recieved the set quickly and in perfect condition. I have had extremely bad luck with ebay and really appreciate this excellent product!!

The corny Halloween and Christmas episodes really tanked my initial enthusiasm about the show. I guess they did a great job of delving into the mind and emotional hangups of a typical teenage girl, aptly played by Clair Danes. But most of the characters bugged me, especially Angela's neurotic mother Patty Chase and their neighbor Brian Krakow. Some interesting story lines, but overall I wasn't overly impressed.

This was a great series.. It's a shame it was so short lived.. I purchased this box set knowing that they are extremely hard to come by, but I recently heard that they will be re-releasing it again really soon, so if you planning on buying one, you're probably better off waiting until the new set is released- otherwise you'll spend no less than $100 on this one.. Of course, it WILL be a collectible still, so the choice is your's.. I recommend it, either way, very highly!

i loved the item...its no longer available in stores and thanks to websites like ebay , even though i cannot go out and buy it, it is still available to be found
