This collection of songs is from films & musicals prior to the television broadcast, on April 28, 1965, of Streisand's 1st television special: "My Name is Barbra."
Originally released on an LP albumn that soared to #2, Streisand won a Best Female Vocalist Grammy.
Sheldon Streisand, Barbra's brother, took the cover photo of his 5yo sister. So that's where the show tunes, the album & ultimate this CD begins: with Barbra Streisand's golden-voiced recollections of her life in song from a 5yo girl's through to the 22yo woman's. As audiences have long since come to appreciate, Streisand's voice is a musical instrument through which she projects emotions that carry us along with her through moments of being. The 12 tracks are as fillows:
1) My Name is Barbara (title song)
2) A Kid Again & I'm Five (medley)
3) Jenny Rebecca
4) My Pa
5) Sweet Zoo
6) Where is the Wonder
7) I Can See It
8) Someone to Watch Over Me
9) I've Got No Strings
10) If You Were the Only Boy in the World
11) Why Did I Choose You
12) My Man
This CD is licensed to be distributed by Sony Music in stereo.
Be sure to check before you bid that your are getting an authentic & legally distributed CD. When the artwork & CD are in mint condition, this one is definitely collectible since it is Streisand's 1st from a television special, hit number 2 on the charts & Streisand won a Grammy the year of its release!~
