My Little Girl by Tim McGraw, Tom Douglas (2008, Hardcover)

I always give myself a small gift for my birthday. Not that I don't receive lovely gifts from friends and family, but because I spend my life taking care of everyone else, I alway choose my birthday to do something special for myself. I am a huge Tim McGraw fan. Not because he is handsome, not because of my love for country music, but because during a very sad point in my life, his songs gave me hope...hope for love, hope for a future, hope that one day I would find someone to love me, like he sings so passionately about in his love songs. When I found out he had written a childrens book, I couldn't wait to get it. But then I saw on Ebay that I could bid on an autographed copy. I knew immediately that this would be the gift I gave myself this year. When it arrived, it was perfect! I held it in my hands and knew that Mr. McGraw wrote in it with the same hand that he writes songs with, with the same hand he holds the microphone to sing those beautiful songs, and in my mind, he signed it just for me. I have my book carefully displayed, still covered in the plastic book cover, with the certificate of authenticity neatly tucked on the back cover. I know my reasons for wanting this book are very personal. But the message is universal. In life, don't forget about how important you are, and do something good for yourself. No one appreciates it more!

I bought this book for my hubby and daughter (her name is Katie, like in the book!) for Christmas. My hubby loves it! He reads it to our daughter almost every night!!! She's only 4 months, but she likes to look at the pictures!

Katie and her daddy ate lunch together and played together. They ended the day with daddy telling Katie a bedtime story and saying prayers.

Cute simple story, fun to read no matter the age. I bought this book for my little girls' first birthday. Of course she can't read it yet but I wrote her a little I Love You in the front cover.
