This is a tear jerker at times. Although the characters are seen coping with death, there is something missing in this movie--perhaps a deeper character development would have helped. There are a few very good scenes, but most of them follow from a desire to realistically portray a workaholic approaching death.
This is a movie that I watched on cable and fell in love with. It had everything that I went though when my daddy was diagnosed with cancer. It just hit home in so many ways. It is a wonderful movie that will make you laugh and cry. It has already been borrowed out to other family members.
This movie is great for people having to assist or that have someone that is having a battle with an illness. this movie helps you in some form or fashion to deal with it. the main star in the movie Michael Keaton does an outstanding job and it shows the struggles that he must conquer in order to live for his unborn child. This is a movie that should be seen by many and it may also gives them some uplifting moments in dealing with their own tragedies.
My Life - A man is diagnosed with terminal cancer just as his wife finds out she is pregnant with the couples first child. He doesn't think he will ever meet his child so he starts taping himself so his child will know who he is. Sad movie, she it with a chick.
This product was great. If I would of been a little patient I would have received the movie, but I jumped the gun and wrote that it hadn't come on time. It did and thank you !!!
This is a story about a man who finds he has cancer and decides to make videos for his baby for when he is gone. My father passed from cancer and so this hit close to home. I found myself wishing that he had left something like this behind. I found that the story was very realistic and heartwrenching. I thought Michael Keaton did a great job.
My Life is a bittersweet film. With outstanding performances by Michael Keaton, Nicle Kidman and a wonderful supporting cast of Bradley Whitford,Maureen Stapleton and Karl Malden..
This movie is so heartwarming, so sad. It is the story of a man who learns that he is dying shortly after he and his wife discover that she is pregnant with their first child. Angry and heartbroken that he may not live to see his baby, the main character begins videotaping many segments of his life; from the most mundane events such as shaving to the very important; all in effort to leave a reminder for his child.
And that's enough said. You'll laugh, you'll cry; mostly cry. It is such a serious topic, handled extremely well, that if you a parent or parent to be, you will look at your life and do some serious soul searching about what your legacy would be.
I recommend it to anyone with children or wanting children!
It's one of my favorite movies of all times. It deals with life & death issues and causes me to examine my life each time I watch it. The main character, who is off the wall and not very serious chooses to become serious about his life. He works on leaving a video for his unborn child to remember him by after he dies. Love it!
I second the idea of having a box of tissues handy. Many what a tear jerker, but a fantastic one! Would highly recommend to anyone that is dealing with any one in their family that has cancer!
This movie take a hard and convincing look at the struggles and issues of the average man facing his past good and bad and his immortality. I really loved this movie and recommend a large box of tissues.
