I was shocked that I loved this book!

I put this book on my book clubs Fall list. I remember thinking, "if this gets picked, i'm not reading it". I typically do not like History type books or period books. I love fiction so I thought, I'd give it a try. WOW! I cannot recommend this book enough. The author grabs your attention in the beginning with a quick pace. Very necessary for those of us with a ton of stuff to be done in a day. She moves at a very fast pace so you do not get bored but not too fast, you get lost. The book took so many different turns I had to finish reading to find out what would happen. By the end, I was just beside myself in thought over all of the events I read. Some fiction, some I am sure happened during the Nazi rule. What an eye opener, an amazing romance that caught me off guard (another thing i don't like, romances!) It all worked though and I loved it! MUST READ!!!!

One of the best books I have ever read. A must read for any person who loves to read! A great story in it's time, tells of a half/Jewish girl who gets trapped into the Lebensborn baby slavery during the holocaust. Loses her family and falls in love along the way with a soldier.

I had this book for several weeks before I read it. Kept choosing other books before it, as I wasn't sure I even wanted to read it. When I finally decided to read it, was I ever glad I did. This author has a wonderful way of writing, and I'm so glad she chose this subject to write about. I didn't know anything about the Nazi Lebensborns before this, and was truly captivated by the story. I've read many books about the horrible Nazi concentration camps, and have always been interested in how people can become like the Nazis, and do what horrible things they did to the Jews and others in those camps, but had never heard of this particular subject. Once again, it showed what the mind control coming from one man can do to a susceptible peoples. Please read this book so that you'll know more of what happened in that era. We must never forget!!!
