My Dog Skip (DVD, 2000)

This is very good movie, good for the entire family. The move reminds me of growing up in the south. The movie brought back fond memories of my childhood and some bad times with the segregation period of our countries history. Segregation what something I did not understand at the time so as a child it believed that was something wrong with all of the grownups. I had some good and bad friends, but we all managed to get along and so we just ignore the grownups.

The story about a rather lonely young man and his best friend, Skip.
It's a heart warming story of a kid growing up in the south.
The boy and his dog kind of grew up together. Shared a lot of memories.
The end is sad, so keep the Kleenex handy.

My 3 year old grandson wanted this movie, so I bought it. Its an excellent movie for children and adults. Its an old movie that has been given a new cover and some additions but the same movie. There were no cons. Good family movie!!!

A good family film suitable for all ages. My three year old saw it on tv and just HAD to have it. It has a good mix of drama and comedy and deals with some tough issues in a way that's easy for kids to understand. I'm sure there are many people who can sympathize with the main character, a quiet and lonely boy trying to find his place in the world who learns about himself and others through the love of his dog.

Allows people to realize there are disappointing events that happen in our lives, but reflecting on the good things which got us there (or the animals) can help us embrace pleasant memories; thus benefiting three-fold.

A good "cry" movie which makes you look around the room and embrace the ones you love, hopefully appreciating them even more.

I watched this movie on TV and reminded me about what a great story it was, the kind you can watch over again every few years. I bought the DVD for friends with a dog so they could enjoy the story and messages. The fact that it was based on a true story added to the great acting. It would be difficult not to like the movie regardless of whether you're a pet fan or not.

My Dog Skip is a wonderful story that tugs on the heartsrings of all of us who have animals in our lives that have become part of the family. I originally saw this film on television and immediately had to own my own copy. I purchased six copies to share with friends and family--this copy actually replaces the copy that was shared with others--hopefully, it is still making the rounds! It is a story for young and old--the relationship between man and animal with man coming out with more from the relationship than the animal.

It is a great movie! I have watched it about 6 times and I cry everytime the dog dies. Received movie promptly as advertised and happy with purchase.

My Dog Skip is a great movie for all ages. It teaches how some fathers are over protective of their children.How growing up in a very small town is charished by the closeness of neighbors who are always willing to help.How some kids get bullied by other kids.But by most of all a kid growing up with his best friend, his dog. The story progresses though the life of the dog,Skip, and really tears a hole in your heart during the scenes as Will,the boy, grows up and leaves for school abroad and while he's away Skip ages without his master and dies peasefully of old age. Even the most strong hearted person needs to have a full box of Kleenex next to them while viewing this movie.

A great movie for the whole family. If anyone has a pet, you will be able to relate to all the love a family can have for a dog. I got this movie for my husband for Father's day, because it is one of his favorites, & one we will never get sick of.

I decided to buy the DVD of My dog skip because I saw it on TV one night and it was one of the most heart-warming and beautiful movies I've seem in a long time. We wanted our own copy to share with the family. Its a winner!
