My Baby Can Talk - First Signs (DVD, 2004)

It is good in that it has a lot of bright colors and repetition which baby's love. That is really all I think is good about it.
It says in the informational part that you should always sign correctly, rather than signing the baby your baby does if he or she doens't get it right, because they will think they are doing it right and will become confused when they see you changing it. But, in the video, the baby doing the signs does them all quite a bit differently than the adult, so won't this confuse your baby also?
I also feel it has a lot of signs baby doesn't need and leaves out many others that would be more helpful. It is mostly animals. The only ones I really found useful right now are milk and cat, which is just for fun. I also have started to use drink and plan to add eat. I think it would have been better if it had included mother, father, please and thank you.
This is the only baby sign language dvd I have tried so far, and I hope to find a better one.

This is an excellent DVD for teaching your child baby sign language!
It is very entertaining for baby but not so much for adults. My children like to put it in and watch it just like a cartoon like Dora because its interactive!
The only thing I do not like about it is they show an adult doing the sign language correctly and then show a baby doing the sign language how the baby might do it(not correct), which is great for parents to acknowledge, but it is confusing to my children!!

I liked it. I was disappointed in the selection of signs. Many of them are not signs that are important comunication with your baby, just fun signs.

It is simple, and easy to understand. Gives a very good first session for signing. Thoroughly explains in many ways. Background is solid, so you can focus on the important part, which is the signing.

It took a little over 3 weeks to receive the DVD. There was little to no communication. I will not be doing business with them in the future.

DVD Came fast and was cheaper than the website. I am very happy with the purchase. My BAby can read is a very easy learning tape that all kids and parents can learn from.

I love that fact that my son loves this video. The very first day he was picking up the sign language. This is a very effective video. Thanks

6 month old baby Jeffrey and I love this video. He is mezmerized by it and has already started signing 'milk' to us. I definitely plan on purchasing the other 4 dvd's in this series. A GREAT early language learning tool even if you don't plan on teaching baby sign language.

This DVD is entertaining for both our 18 month old and us. She is entertained and interested in every sign. Go to the website and watch the samples to see what I mean.

My 16 month old grandaughter can communicate with us FOR THE FIRST TIME! It has also helped her put words to the hand signals she uses. We all love it! I am looking to see if there are more in the series...

I love this video series and this one definitely lives up to the other two. My 13 mo. old gets so excited when I put it on and watches intently the whole time. What I love is that it's not just absorbing her attention, but she's actually learning. She already has learned the signs for bird, diaper, drink, eat, more, and thank you. It's been a help for me to know what she wants.

This is an excellent DVD - my 15 month old baby's favorite! Within a couple days she had learned the sign for "more" and has since learned many more signs. She would watch it all day every day if I would let her. It really keeps her attention!

Really like the format. My son would watch it over and over if I let him. So far no signing, but it's nice to see the signs. My main concern is that it seems to spend a lot of time on some signs (cat) but not so much on others (drink) that I think would be easier to learn.

I have an 8 month old daughter and wanted to introduce her to signs. This DVD is very easy to follow and she loves to watch all the colors and see the little baby sign. It is recommended for age 10 months but she is already able to recognize some signs and is trying to copy. You definately need to work on signing day to day but this is a very helpful introduction.

I bought this DVD originally because I want to teach my young sons sign language. We have another toy that teaches signs and since they were doing so well with that, I decided to look on E Bay for something to reinforce and teach new signs. This DVD is fabulous. I like to watch it as an adult, because it teaches me a lot of signs, my 2.5 year old son likes it, because not only does the woman show the signs, and there are pictures and words to show the signs, there is a baby that shows the signs and he likes to watch her do it, and then he imitates her. My smallest son (6 months)even though he can not sign yet, he likes to watch the DVD because of the sounds and pictures. It really keeps his attention!

I suggest anyone who is looking to learn beginning signs of ASL either as an adult or to teach a child should buy this DVD.

I bought this video because I have a son that is 20 months old and will not talk or even try to. He just screams for everything and points. We watched this video together and he actually got it. Now that he knows he can get what he wants when we know exactly what that is, he tries to do the sign for it. And now he is even trying to say some words as well! The only bad thing about this video is that it does not give very many signs. I know it is a beginner video but there could be a few more. Other than that it is great!

This is a really sweet way to learn sign language to share with your baby. It is designed to be watched by your child as well. I would prefer if it were more adult oriented and had more signs as I don't plan to have my child watch this, however it is very well put together and sweet.

Great seller and quality. My son has aleady made his first "milk" sign and he is only 7 1/2 months old.

DVD in excellent condition, my baby loves watching it! I was pleased that the DVD was is said new condition and works perfectly, my fifteen month old son loves to watch it, I am happy that it was most likely cheaper than what I would have paid in a store.

This DVD is exactly what I was looking for! I love it and so does my 7 month old daughter. I am excited for her to get a bit bigger and begin using the signs.

We purchased this when our twins were 6-months old and they LOVE it! Now at 9-months, they will still sit and watch it while playing. The signs are of items such as: cat, dog, drink, etc. So far we have focused on: cat, more, and drink. The boys are loving it. This has been well worth the money spent!
