In one word, the music of L'Altra is beautiful. You could get drunk just listening to these gentle, understated phrases from guitars, voices, and keyboards (including L'Altra's trademark electric piano) which combine and swirl together like leaves in a pool of water.
"Little Chair" will stop you dead in your tracks and flood your bloodstream with endorphins. The lyrics mingle the abstract with the emotional. Cameos abound here with friends adding cello, vibes, and accordion; there's also a little horn blowing from Isotope 217 and Chicago Underground Duo's Rob Mazurek. When aggressive and violent music dominates the charts, gorgeous music like this often goes underground. Hopefully, MUSIC OF A SINKING OCCASION can be everyone's little secret.
