Just some great music

After i got the basement tapes, i had to get this cd. The bonus tracks, 9 of them are outtakes or alternate, are really good. Some are better than the original. All around, great purchase and addition to my collection.

) One of THE BAND'S finest!! All music here in was written, perfected, rehearsed & recorded in the basement of "Big Pink". This was the pink house in Woodstock were THE BAND lived and recorded for several years. Levon Helm, drummer & Mandolin player refers to this time as some of the "most productive time THE BAND spent together musically".
And it shows!! All cuts are chrisp, clean and from the heart! The comradery of living, eating, sleeping, laughing & working under one roof shines through on this recording! It stood on it's own then as it does today, as some of the finest "Original American Music" to ever be layed down.... This one is a "Must Have" for anyone's record collection!
