  Fun, breezy read!

I used to think that there was nothing like a British mystery. Everything else fell flat. While they are still my favorite, American authors like Donna Andrews and Anne Carol George, whose southern American cozys with excentric characters and solid mysteries that are sprinkled with humor thoughout, have opened a new avenue for me, especially when I'm in the mood for something a little less gut-wrenching. Murder with Peacocks is a perfect example of this. It is the first book in Donna Andrews' Meg Langslow series. I'm betting that if you read it, you will want to read more in the series. If you are in the mood for a light-hearted mystery that keeps you guessing and laughing all at the same time, you are going to love this one.

Donna Andrew's Meg Langslow series is a real winner. She takes an offbeat group of people and spins a slapstick/mystery that keeps you entertained from start to finish.

  Light-hearted, cozy mystery

I bought this book because I had read another book by Donna Andrews called The Penguin Who Knew Too Much and had enjoyed it. This one was better by far. The characters are funny and well-written. The plot moves along at a steady pace, but never becomes very serious. It is a great light-hearted book to enjoy with a glass of iced tea on a summer afternoon. I highly recommend it to anyone who likes to read just for fun.
