Murder Passes The Buck by Deb Baker (cozy mystery)

I always enjoy a mystery involving the senior set and the rural Michigan Upper Peninsula sounded interesting. Gertie Johnson is a widow that doesn't do bridge or fashion shows. But has a couple old lady friends that keep her company and she keeps them actively engaged with her interest in solving crimes... Her son Blaze, being the sheriff and not the most inspired crime fighter on the planet, gives her opportunity to "assist" him delving into murders he feels are accidents, that is when he is not trying to drag her off to court for mental instability. There is an extended circle of community characters that keep you guessing how well one can really know a person. Gertie finds this investigation pursuit is not as easy as she imagined and can get pretty deadly! Her family is a hoot and by the mid point of the book, I was doing just that out loud!!!! I will look forward to the next of the series "Murder Grins & Bears It".
