How Not To Cook Your Goose

This is the second in the "Cooking Up Murder" series for Ms. Bliss. Unlike the first book, which was more having best friends, Eve and Annie learning to cook in a night school, this one has them joining their former cooking teacher, Jim, in his newly bought restaurant, "BellyWasher's." I might mention that Jim is also the on-again, off-again boyfriend to the more conservative Annie. Eve is more the Paris Hilton type in looks, but with more brains. Eve also acts as hostess while Annie stays behind the scenes and does everything else but cook. When the restaurant finally gets a long awaited rave review everyone is celebrating. The elite of Washington, D.C. are lining up at the door. Just when things seem to be simmering along nicely, Annie and Eve find their friend Sarah dead in her bathtub. The police want to write it off as a suicide/accident, but Sarah was a staffer for a powerful congressman and the facts just don't add up. As the girls get involved with investigating Sarah's death, little accidents start to happen to them and they know they must be closing in on the killer.
Miranda Bliss's second book is even better than the first. I love the girls and I wasn't sure I would....especially Eve, but she is no dummy! Sure she talks about fashion til Annie could scream but it is humorous and a fresh take on a cooking series, in that the heroines don't really get involved that much in the cooking itself! There are some wonderful recipes at the end of the book....delicious! I hope Ms. Bliss continues on a roll. This is one author I am keeping on my list!
