The story involves Ken and Barbie Addison, a rich Dr. and his wife. Barbie makes gourmet meals out of her home for distribution and her husband, Ken, is the town Dr., but he is not very well liked because of his surly attitude toward his patients. The trouble starts when Skye Denison, Scumble River's school psychologist, finds the couple murdered in their home. She and her boyfriend, Simon Reid, who is also coroner and funeral director, set out to find the killer or killers and to determine whether one or both Addison's were meant to be the victim. Everyone in town seems to want to help. Even the police seem to be giving her the nod to find some answers.
As usual with Ms. Swanson's books, there are a lot of laughs and the town being so small you do get to know the characters, quirks and all. Especially Skye's family.
