Cushing Does Not Want His Mummy!
Hammer Films classic, basically their remake of the Karloff film of the same name. In this one, Christopher Lee plays the Mummy, who was locked in with the princess as guardian as punishment for lusting her before she died, and for messing with the Parchment of Life which, when read, makes the dead rise. The professor who discovers the tomb reads it out loud (never read out loud parchments when sitting in tombs!) and makes the Mummy rise. The Mummy goes on a rampage of death until he runs into Peter Cushing's character's wife, who is the spitting image of the princess -- the fun ensues. Great production for the time, good sets and a knowledge of Egyptian mythology is surprisingly well known. The DVD is plain vanilla -- only a trailer and a list of the cast and crew.
