Album Notes Capitol's Beatles box set consists of a black, wooden roll-top box made in the U.K. and comes with its own book that contains a detailed history of each track. The box contains all 13 previously released Beatles CDs, including the 2 volumes of PAST MASTERS. The Beatles: John Lennon, George Harrison (vocals, guitar); Paul McCartney (vocals, bass); Ringo Starr (vocals, drums). Additional personnel includes: Billy Preston (organ). Sometimes you'll hear the phrase "This is the only thing you'll ever need by this artist," but never have the words been more true than this. This 15-disc collection, housed in a classy oak box with a rolltop lid, contains the UK edition of every Beatles album from PLEASE PLEASE ME through LET IT BE, plus the expanded US edition of MAGICAL MYSTERY TOUR and the two volumes of PAST MASTERS, EMI's chronological collections of tracks which appeared only on singles or compilations (such as the original "wildlife" mix of "Across the Universe" or John's raveup on Larry Williams' "Bad Boy"). | Find errors in the product description? After all the experts, musical and otherwise, give their opinions and write their books about The Beatles all that is going to matter in the end is the music. And this is all the music that The Beatles officially released. What more can I say? Not only is this some of the greatest music ever made, but it is also a historical document of the 1960's. For what would the 60's be without The Beatles? If you want to know what The Beatles were all about this is the place to start and finish. Don't hesitate to buy this! In fact, it is a UK EMI / Parlophone release with the discs being manufactured in places like Italy and Holland. ( I spotted this same "Capitol" error in the "Fest for Beatle Fans" {formerly known as BEATLEFEST} annual catalog ) If you are looking for those "butchered" versions of Beatle albums / songs that have their stereo image narrowed and are swamped with post-production reverb by Capitol Records ( a USA company ), This is NOT the box set for you. This is indeed the greatest CD Boxset ever. ( this is a biased opinion as I am a huge Beatle fan ). Save for Magical Mystery Tour & Past Masters 1&2, This boxset contains the original albums as released by The Beatles. The only negatives with this set are #1 the lack of song lyrics on most CD's, #2 the fact that EMI / Parlophone decided to add the puffed up Magical Mystery Tour EP/LP when it wasn't originally released as an LP ( not to mention it is available in its original EP format in the Beatles EP CD boxset ). Buy this boxset for yourself or for a friend or for that special someone. The black wooden roll top box makes this boxset a very attractive display piece as well. An included book that tucks away in the boxset contains liner notes for all of the songs on each of the discs. Great reading!! Positive vibes from the first disc to last !
