Movie Description LA MUJER DEL PUEBLO: Otilia (Gabriela Canudas) is a woman both blessed and cursed. She is endowed with an incredible voluptuous figure and unusual facial characteristics that are considered beautiful and some that are distinctly less so, and her life is bound by the dual nature of that appearance. In her relationships with other members of her small Mexican pueblo, she constantly grapples with their conflicting (and yet passionate) feelings of repulsion, desire, jealously, and outright terror. Otilia herself, who constantly must employ the force of her character to overcome what other see as her physical limitations, must always be tormented by unfulfilled romantic impulses. Through some romantic encounters, Otilia proves herself to be capable of extraordinary emotion that others do not have the insight to feel.
CUENTOS DE HADAS PARA DORMIR COCODRILOS: After a man with insomnia is abandoned by his wife, he receives a phone call from his brother telling him that his father is ailing. He travels to his home town, taking his son along. Upon arrival, the man realizes that his brother and father have long since died and that his family was placed under a curse the moment his great-grandfather looked a coyote in the eyes many years ago. This unusual tale was the winner of seven Mexican Ariel Awards in 2002.
