Much Afraid [ECD] by Jars Of Clay (CD, Sep-1997, Silvertone Records USA)

Much Afraid, the title of the sophomore release of Jars of Clay, was based on a book by Hannah Hurnard entitled "Hind’s Feet on High Places" which is an allegory of the every individuals journey being closer to God.

Dan Haseltine, the group's lead singer described the album as "a departure (from their first production, but fans can expect) more of the same." Upon hearing this album, I immediately fell in love with their new sound in hits such as Weighed Down, Overjoyed, Portrait of an Apology, and Team and Sympathy.

Much Afraid contains 10 new tracks (Overjoyed, Fade to Grey, Tea and Sympathy, Crazy Times, Five Candles (You Were There), Weighed Down, Portrait of an Apology, Truce, Much Afraid, and Hymn) as well as the title track from their Frail Demo CD entitled "Frail."
