Ms. Pac Man a bit too late, but still stands strong!

Much better then the orginal! As for atari collectors like my self, we all agree that the publication of this game was a bit to late, but still a much improved game. With better graphics and sound, this game is a great addition to the collection!

Back in it's day this was one of the best games ever made. Fun to play with the same great features as the original PAC-MAN but this time it's a girl. My kids love it, even though it's old school. Highly reccomend this game!!!!!!!!

 Review - Atari 2600 game Ms.Pac-Man

The Atari 2600 version of "Ms. Pac-Man" is as good as the the Atari 2600 version of "Pac-Man" is bad (see my Pac-Man review for clarification). The characters are detailed much better, with much more color. The sound effects are greatly improved. The game-play is significantly better. Ms. Pac-Man is a must-have for any Atari 2600 collector, and is a game that you will constantly play while Pac-Man sits on the shelf and collects dust.

Ms. Pac-Man -- Atari gets it right!
Review created: 07/29/02

Pros:
Now this is a "Pac-Man" game worth owning; Great home translation.

Cons:
Can be confused with that horrible Pac-Man game!

If I've said it once, I've said it a hundred times -- an Atari arcade translation is either very good or absolutely horrible. There's little middle-ground as far as arcade ports for that wonderful console are concerned. Ms. Pac-Man is one of the very good ports and was a welcome site after Atari butchered the Pac-Man port in 1981. While I realize this is meant to be a review of Ms. Pac-Man, the failed Pac-Man translation must be mentioned in order to keep things in perspective. In 1981, a heck of a lot of people looked forward to Pac-Man and became rather furious after they saw the blocky,...

And that's what we're talking about!

Pros:
fast-paced; challenging & fun; high re-play value; better graphics and sounds

Cons:
play controls are a bit finicky; doesn't look like the arcade original

There are few things more satisfying in life than realizing someone has learned their lesson. That s the case with Ms. Pac-Man for the Atari 2600. Whereas the original Pac-Man port of the arcade smash was an absolute turkey, the game designers seemed to have actually heeded players complaints. It s like they took all the flaws and did the exact opposite this time around. PRESS FIRE TO START There is very little difference between the concept of Pac-Man and Ms. Pac-Man aside from a few aesthetics. Mr. Pac was a plain yellow disc but his wife has eyes, a beauty mark and a bow on top of her head.
