Mrs. Brown (DVD, 1999)

This was a great movie about an interesting women and a period in her life that very few people know about. The cast is excellent as is the acting.

Not only was this Gerry's "debut", (which the main reason I saw it) but the love story was good also. I love the witty exchange between John Brown (Billy Connolly's character)and Queen Victoria (Judi Dench's character). The scenery was beautiful, and I liked the story line. And did I mention, it was Gerry's debut. OH MAN!! I dont know when he looked better, then or now? But dont pay attention to his hair!!

I loved this movie because it is the first movie Gerard Butler starred in. His body is to die for. The scenery is beautiful.

Mrs. Brown is a film that is touching and romantic in the true sense of the word. You get history, great acting, and well portrayed emotions that all people share whether royal or common. Love this movie!

I love this movie, it is a very exciting true story about Queen Victoria's life and plus it has my favorite movie actor in it Gerard Butler

I absolutely love this made for TV movie, for many reasons. First, it is about merry England and Queeen Victoria a most powerful time when many things that go on today found their way into every day life,decor, and ways of living. Secondly it is an award winning film with an award winning cast. When it was over, I remember thinking "Let's have more. I want to see more!". Lastly, a magnificient actress gave a magnificant performance in it. That would be Dame Judi Dench. I hope to see her on the stage someday, I hope.

everything about this movie was great ... casting, writing, directing, acting and photography. it was obviously well planned and thought out.

Judi Dench is my favorite actress. This video was hard to find. It was worth the wait and the trouble--if you like historical dramas or Judy Dench.

It's a very touching story about the relationship between the Queen of England and Billy Connelley. I bought it as I am a Gerard Butler fan. He played Billy Connelley's brother and wasn't in the movie much.

Judi Dench is one of my favorites, and seeing the interaction between her and Billy Connoly was a treat. Gerard Butler is good in one of his early roles.

This is an Outstanding Movie that deserves 5 STARS! Billy Connolly, Judi Dench, Gerard Butler are Extraordinary Actors bringing thier Characters to Life & Depth of real people. The devotedness & Love story between Mr Brown & Queen Elizabeth are the type of facts that make History absolutely fascinating. The look into the times of that period, morals, dress, beliefs, the way Royality must have lived made me glad to be living in the time period I am in & glad (believe it or not) I am not Royality. What a terribly, sad, lonely life the Queen must have lived yet highly admirable as her first duty had to be always in the end to the people in England she governed. The Photography & English landscape are Poetry in Motion adding awe, interest & belief that this really was the 1800's. I would highly recommend this movie it is already among the Classics!

What an excellent movie. Judi Densch is just outstanding as Queen Victoria. Again this movie gives us another look into the life of this most interesting person. I enjoyed ths movie and would suggest it to anyone who is interested in the Victorian period of world history and in the life of Queen Victoria. It is just good movie.
