Mr. Coffee ECM20 Espresso Machine

Easy to use. For better tasting latte/capp, may want to try a more expensive machine. This product is pretty good for the money.

What I love is I got this for my BF for Christmas because he wanted to start making our own latte's at home on a Sat or Sun AM where we didn't have to throw on some clothes to go out and get one. Once you get the process down, which took about three times but no biggy, it's just as good as Starbucks White Chocolate Latte.

He only complains about the cleaning, the frother part for the milk gets 'icky', but he seems to really enjoy making them. Only takes him a few minutes to really wipe it all off and put up.

After doing a lot of research this was the most reasonable price one, as we aren't using it on a daily basis, so far just the w/e when I'm over there. And the price was reasonable since it isn't being used on a daily basis.

It's small and doesn't take up any room on counter either.

My son has recently started drinking cappuccino's so I figured it would be cheaper to buy one from ebay than to pay for them when we go to town. He loves this machine. When I seen the Mr. Coffee Espresso ECM20, I had to have it. The only thing wrong was there was no manual, but that was easy to take care of. I just got on the internet and the Mr. Coffee Co. puts the manuals on there for free you just download it. I am so glad I bought it. I could not have gotten anything better for the price.

I get the best espresso coffee in the world!!!. I have travelled extensively and have Illy espresso in Trieste itself, Lavazza and Sagafredo espresso all over Italy and many other countries, and the coffee I get from this machine surpasses anything I have tasted before, and cost me less than 5 bucks in ebay.

Takes a little getting use to; but, once you've mastered the art, it makes a great cup of Cappuccino!! I found that the manual was very helpful. Clean-up after use is a little agravating. Also, don't be folled by the pictures on the box, it does not come with the stainless steel milk frothing cup!

I like the fact that I can make my own Espresso a lot cheaper then going to Starbucks. This would be the machine #5 over 12 years. I like my Espresso.

I have had to send back three of these machines. The steamer doesn't heat water up enough to steam/froth the milk. It blows hot air, but not steam. I'm ready to try a different brand.

I bought this item for my daughter. She told me what she wanted. This sounded perfect. I will be giving it to her and her husband for a Christmas present. If my other three daughters like it then I will be buying more! Thanks!

A simple espresso machine. Does not seam to have a very high pressure or advanced features, but works very fine.

This espresso machine is a great product for its retail price and is especially suitable for your first espresso machine, or the occasional espresso drink maker. However this product is not built for daily habitual use. It is great for making the occasional latte but the product is not meant to weather making espresso shots every hour.

I bought this one to replace the one I've had for years. It's doing fine, I couldn't be happier. Good machine ans a good transaction.

We are very happy with our machine, and enjoy our espressos and capucchinos. My husband wanted one and I decided to give it to him as a present. For a small machine, it does a very good job

It was a great deal, because i looked for it on intenet and all of them were a lot more expensive on the same reference. Besides, it was a free shipping item, so i also saved money on this. Once i got it, i realized it was in excellent condition, brand new and small. It had everything they said it would come with, including manual. When i decided to prepare the first coffee it was so easy to use!

The seller was fair in saying that the pot and othere things didn't go with it. However to say that buying the things you need to complete it were cheap on ebay was not so true. Because a pot for the espresso maker was twice what I paid for the machine. So not quite a wonderful experience. I seem to be stuck with a espresso maker with not utensils.

Bought on E-bay, Makes excellent full bodied coffee. Have only tried with foamed hot milk which makes the final cup of coffee exceptionally hotter than my Gevalia regular coffee machine.

You will need a separate coffee bean grinder or mini-glass jar add-on for your blender. Having a separate grinder makes servicing better. You may also buy pre-ground coffee, but coffee is better if freshly ground just prior to brewing the coffee.

I Find the knob a little stiff but should ease with use. However, do not mind the stiffness when making foamed milk as it provides much better control. Perhaps a senior person or someone with arthritis might have trouble with the knob.

Instructions on re-foaming could be better written. A little practice makes it easier.

For those not familiar with the frothing process - it does two things: heats the milk to a temperature of 130° F - 150° F, and due to the high pressure steam the milk is agitated creating foam. The starting volume of the cold milk in a separate container is then doubled in volume. You may either skim off the foam on to the coffee in the cup, or pour the hot milk with foam into the coffee, with the foam floating on top. You do not want to go above 150° F as it could scald or curd the milk. You do not need a thermometer if you gradually foam and watch the volume expansion. During my first attempt with this machine, I used a candy thermometer to monitor the foaming temperature and it hovered within the above range.

This is NOT a one person machine. Makes two Espressos without a problem. Also it will make two 8 oz. cups of Cappuccino, without any problem. If needing for more than 2 people, a 3 minute wait for a second round is no burden and equal to that in a cafe.

Cleaning is easy. I do find the brew basket clip a dumb idea, and the plastic handle is not a good idea. I believe I will have problems down the road with the plastic handle. If the handle was made out of wood or metal, this would have enabled me to give it 5 stars.
